The reconstructed village is about a 30 minute bus ride. The musical greeting by the Villagers was a lovely start to the evening, followed by a tour of each hut. We learned about the significance of pottery, weaving, carving & jewelry making in their culture. We also met the Chief and were allowed to have our pictures taken with him. We watched them unearth our dinner from the lovo... chicken, fish, mutton and lots of veggies. While they set up the buffet tables, we took part in a kava ceremony and enjoyed the peppery drink. Dinner was delicious, followed by some of the most mesmerizing fire dancing by both men and women. If you've ever seen women in Hawaii twirl poi balls, picture them on fire! OhEmGee!! Everything about this excursion was worth the once in a lifetime experience! This is not to be missed, period.

Very interesting evening. It was educational and the entertainment was great. The dinner was cooked in an earthen oven-lovo. We even got to see them uncover and remove the food for dinner. The meal included lots of veggies, mutton, chicken and fish. Was able to try taro and cassava. They even provided the mosquito repellent which was definitely needed.

Great tour guides, learnt so much about historical Fiji, loved the tour around the village, food and entertainment. The men and women performing was amazing and enjoyable. We (visitors) were given opportunities to participate in ceremonial activities and dancing. The Congo line at the end was awesome.

Unexpectedly delightful evening that started with interesting tour of a replica of a village (Chief’s hut, making clay pots, war weapons, tapa making, fishing, cooking), followed by authentic Fijian feast cooked in the ground (delicious!), and entertainment - best show I’ve ever been to with lots of fire knife dancers and other traditional dances. They were also great musicians and singers. Afterwards, they got guests involved in giant conga lines which was lots of fun. Highly recommend this excursion!!!
