Braga has its roots on the ancient Roman Empire. It's a bimillennial comercial city with strategic position serving the world's center - Rome, back in I BC. Known as Bracara Augusta in honor of the Roman Emperor Augustus, keeps its importance and legacy very present on remains and structure of the city center and surroundings.
Guimarães, by it's turn, is the cradle of nationality. It was the battleground of our independence from the kingdom of León, and the birthplace of Afonso Henriques (our first king). It is an enchanted city that maintains the original medieval structure and architectural features that earned the distinction as a cultural world heritage site by UNESCO (2001).

5.00This is a great tour hosted by Ricardo. Prior to the trip, we didn’t know what to expect with the tour. We just knew the pictures looked amazing. Ricardo was timely and accommodating due to an unforeseen injury to one person in our party. Our tour began in the breathtaking city of Braga. Ricardo coordinated a masterful guide of the city with brief stops to shops and vendor’s with a purposeful history lesson. Ricardo was flexible in giving options to view sites from different vantage points, and great suggestions for best picture locations. With each stop, even the vendor’s loved and sang praises of Ricardo and the work he did in showing the true heart of the city. The tour was wonderful and we’re thankful for the experience with Ricardo. Book the tour, it’s a true gem.

5.00Absolutely the best tour I’ve ever been on! Ricardo is a gracious, extremely knowledgeable guide. We saw the best of Braga and Guimaraes and with the flexibility of a private tour we even got to visit a 1st century hillfort. A truly memorable day.

5.00This was an amazing trip. Our guide, Ari do was awesome. He was so much fun and very knowledgeable!! He allowed us to meander through the streets while showing us all of the sites!! His birthday was today (the same day of our tour), but he was so pleasant and really made all the difference of having a good experience and an awesome experience!! 5.00Ricardo is by far one of the most friendl and knowledgeable tour guides I’ve encountered. What I appreciated most is that he doesn’t overtalk. Instead, he gives you space to soak in the beauty of each landmark, and when he does speak, his insights are meaningful and perfectly timed—it feels like he can read the group’s needs. Both cities were breathtaking but Ricardo elevated the experience with his warmth, storytelling and deep knowledge. This tour is not only worth it, it’s an absolute must-try! Isabel
