5.00Iker was attentive and informative. He drove his minivan to take us to the scenic spot high in the hills at the site of an amusement park where the view was splendid. He gave good directions for us to walk around the next day. We appreciate his enthusiasm. We went to one pintxos bar and he accommodated us in the choice of what we like to eat.

5.00JAIME, Was fantastic, very knowledgeable of the whole area local customs and of course, the wines. we learnt so much. we were taken to two small wineries where we had some great wines from very passionate people. Lunch was also very good, from a little local restaurant. I would highly recommend this tour.

5.00We spent an amazing day with Gorka who picked us up in Bilboa. We visited two very interesting wineries in Rioja and had a delicious lunch on our way to Madrid. Gorka was a wonderful tour guide who taught us so much about the Basque country, culture and recipes. We are very appreciative to Iker and Gorka for our wonderful visits and our new Basque friends.

5.00We had an awesome time in San Sebastián and the Basque Country with Iker and Gorka! Iker led our group on a lovely walking tour of San Sebastián and along the way taught us about the gastronomical culture of the region. He tailored his pintxos tour to our group’s tastes and dietary needs. The highlight in San Sebastián was a cooking class that Iker coordinated for us where we cooked some traditional Basque dishes and dessert. Iker was extremely friendly and helpful throughout, and he ensured that we had a phenomenal time. Gorka took our trip on a multi-day excursion that spanned the French-Basque coastline (visiting places like Biarritz and Saint Jean de Luz) as well as visiting numerous wineries in the Rioja region. Gorka was a fantastic guide – he had a great sense of humor, was exceptionally knowledgeable about all of the areas we visited, made great recommendations for various places to eat, and always made sure our group was taken care of and having a good time. With the help of Basque Guides, we were able to do so much on our visit to the Basque Country and it was the highlight of our trip across Spain and Portugal. We highly recommend Basque Guides to anyone visiting the area.

5.00My husband and I arranged a private custom tour of San Sebastian, Getaria with a visit to Balenciaga Museum, ending with a drive to Bilbao as that was the end of a 5 day tour that we started in Ribera del Duero and Rioja. Enrique, our tourguide met us at our hotel in San Sebastian and took us on an all day walking and pintxos tour of the city. We walked along La Concha beach, saw the famous sculptures by Chillida and then walked around the city. We started our pintos tour stopping at each bar and having a drink and savoring the specialties at each place. We tried the cider made in the region, we also tried the txakoli, a typlical wine from Basque country. All the pintxos we tried were outstanding. The next day, Gorka our tourguide, picked us up at our hotel and drove us to Getaria. We visited the Balenciaga Museum and then enjoyed a great lunch at a beach front restaurant in Getaria. We then drove to Bilbao, walked around the city to see the outside of the Guggenheim Museum and the Puppy. All in all, my husband and I had a great experience. Enrique and Gorka were very friendly, knowledgeable and spoke perfect English. They were attentive to every detail during the tour. We highly recommend Basque Guides to anyone that wants to visit Basque country (San Sebastian, Getaria, Bilbao). I assure you that you will have a great and memorable experience. like we did. We look forward to returning very soon!

5.00Exquisite exclusive customized tour with expert tour guides (history professor, master chef and sommelier). Tour included a special “surprise” request that Iker created. The restaurant in Zurait served up a garlic and hot olive oil (Agua de Lourdes) infused turbot fish. Best fish dish ever. Not to be outdone by the hot chocolate in Biarritz or the private Rioja wine experience topped off with specialties from a private family lunch in Guardia. I love the Basque people their food, their culture and the preserved age old culture. This was our second trip with Basqueguides. The experiences are never ending. If you enjoy basque food you owe it to yourself to visit San Sebastián. Iker will provide you with a 5 star experience.

5.00We had Daniel as our guide, top-notch, 5 stars service! Very Knowledgeable and helpful! We visited small towns and had lunch like locals. The price might be more but totally worth it. Transport was comfortable, no complaints, and will definitely return if we ever return to the region!
