The Museum of Qin Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses
Avoid crowded tour buses and slow-moving tour groups with a handy private driver to take you to the famous Terracotta Warriors. Meet your local guide at 8am in the hotel lobby. You are expecting 7000 life size terracotta warriors all in the real battle formation, which were buried underground over 2200 years (recommended visiting time: 2.5 hours with lots of flat walking). The Museum visit includes three original pits, Pit 1 as the main force, Pit 2 as the Flexible Troupe and Pit 3 as Command Center. There is also an exhibition hall for different exhibitions from time to time. This is definitely a treasure house to study the history of the first dynasty of China, the Qin Dynasty.
Xi'an City Wall (Chengqiang)
Xi'an city wall is the only intact city wall kept in China and is now the landmark of Xi'an. With the length of 13.74 kilometers, the wall is in a rectangular shape in a perfect defense system. By ascending the wall, you can see the moat, the arrow tower and the watch towers and the water drainage system.
Hotel pick-up and drop-off: Pick-up and drop-off at hotel. This is a relaxing one day private tour with english speaking guide. Visit the terra-cotta warriors and other two attractions in downtown Xi'an as per your likes.

The driver Liu was very polite and always on time. Agnes was very knowledgeable and patient throughout the trip. She made the experience very enjoyable and easy for us. She was kind enough to suggest and take photos for us at the best locations. The whole day was personalized to our pace and interests. Would highly recommend both Liu and Agnes to everyone.

My tour of Xi’an was absolutely incredible, and it wouldn’t have been the same without our amazing guide Wendy. From the moment we met, she was warm, professional, and full of enthusiasm for the city’s rich history and culture. Wendy’s knowledge of Xi’an is extraordinary — from the legendary Terracotta Warriors to the ancient City Wall and the Pagota Temple, every story was brought to life with fascinating details and personal insights. Can't thank the driver enough also for the transportation! Beyond being knowledgeable, Wendy was incredibly thoughtful and attentive — always helping translate to both English for me and explain in Chinese for my mother and father in law, and even taking us to eat authentic local food (the biangbiang noodles recommendation was spot-on!). It’s rare to meet someone who combines deep expertise with such genuine passion and kindness. Thanks to Wendy, I didn’t just see Xi’an — I felt it. I left with wonderful memories, and a deep appreciation for this historic city. If you’re planning a visit to Xi’an, do yourself a favor and ask for Wendy — it will be the highlight of your trip!

My dad and I had an amazing experience on our Customized Private Day Tour of the Terracotta Warriors and Xi’an. Wendy was so friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about Xi’an’s history, which made the whole day so engaging. Seeing the Terracotta Warriors up close was incredible — the scale and detail were beyond what we imagined, and the stories behind the site were fascinating. For lunch, she took us to a local restaurant to try biang biang noodles, a Xi’an specialty — thick, hand-pulled noodles that were absolutely delicious! We also visited the Xi’an City Wall, where we took in beautiful views and learned about its centuries-old history, and the Muslim Quarter, which was full of life, color, and delicious food stalls. Everything was perfectly organized, from pickup to drop-off, and having a private car made it easy and comfortable to get around. It was the perfect balance of history, culture, and local flavor. Wendy even gave us several food and cultural experience recommendations for the rest of our stay, she's awesome!! We highly recommended this tour for anyone visiting Xi’an who wants a truly personal and informative experience!

I had an absolutely fabulous day tour with Wendy, and I would highly recommend her to anyone visiting Xi’an — whether solo or as a couple. Wendy’s knowledge of Xi’an’s history and culture is truly first class, and her English is excellent, making the day both informative and enjoyable. The entire experience was perfectly organised — from the smooth executive transport to the well-timed itinerary covering the Terracotta Warriors, the ancient City Wall (which we cycled around), and all the other highlights. What really stood out was Wendy’s friendly personality and attention to detail — she made the whole day feel effortless. I came away with a much deeper understanding of Xi’an and some unforgettable memories. If you’re visiting Xi’an, don’t hesitate — book Wendy Xian Tours. It’s one of the best travel decisions you’ll make!

We visited the terracotta museum, wild goose pagoda and Muslim quarter with Wendy and she made the day so fun for all of us - our three kids and us! My kids know some Chinese so she taught them fun facts about Chinese characters at various sites and kids asked her so many questions because they did not get bored at all (it’s not easy to keep 12/11/9 year old engaged all day!) Wendy has so much knowledge about the terracotta warrior museum and about Buddhist history (temple visit) as well as fun street foods to try in the Muslim quarter. I wish we had planned more days with Wendy in Xi’an. Due to traffic delays and rain we went over our scheduled time but Wendy didn’t ever make us feel that she is getting delayed. Amazing person and would absolutely love to go back to Xi’an and spend time learning more about China with Wendy.

Our guide Agnes & driver Liu collected us from Xi'an and took us to the Terracotta warriors site. We had not expected the number of people that visit the Terracotta Warrior or the size of the car park and the fairly lengthy amount of walking that is involved just getting to the main site, fortunately our guide kept the distance to a minimum. The temperature was about 17-19C so a light jacket was needed. Agnes gave us a running commentary of the background to the discovery, the history and its location in the foothills of the mountain. The main building is like a huge aircraft hangar and visitors circulate around the site. Agnes repeatedly warned us that we would be jostled by other visitors and I think a few of them must have been prop forwards for the Chinese national Rugby team. Agnes pointed out specific items of interest, the different warriors, the repairs, the missing wooden tools that the warriors would have held etc. She made sense of what could have been just a mass of terracotta figures had we not had a guide, she also ensured we did the tour in a logical fashion and answered all our questions. We had lunch with her and really enjoyed her company as she discussed her childhood and the exciting changes to her country we felt we had been fortunate to have had such a knowledgeable and friendly guide to help us. Any visitor to China will know that their Highway code does not include a big section on lane discipline and we had already experienced Taxi driver figure of eight racing in Shanghai, but our driver Lui was a real professional driver and at no time did we feel unsafe during the journey. If you plan to visit the Terracotta warriors I recommend you have a guide or you will miss so much of the detail that makes it such a fascinating experience and if you get Agnes I can guarantee you will enjoy it.
