Cruise Terminal Le Havre
Your journey begins with a seamless pick-up in Le Havre, where an experienced guide will meet you at the cruise port or your hotel. Le Havre, strategically located on the Normandy coast, played a crucial role during World War II as a vital logistical hub for the Allied forces during the planning and execution of the D-Day invasion. As you depart from Le Havre, your guide will provide a brief introduction to the region’s significance and the heroic efforts of the Allied troops who fought to liberate Europe from Nazi occupation. The drive to the first destination sets the stage for the profound historical experience that awaits at the D-Day Landing sites.
Cimetiere Militaire Allemand de La Cambe
At the German Cemetery, a distinct narrative of the D-Day events awaits you. Set against tranquil surroundings, this solemn site commemorates the sacrifices made by all parties involved in the conflict. With rows of meticulously placed tombstones, it stands as a solemn testament to the profound cost of war.

Excellent tour and our guide Ash was very knowledgeable and made it an enjoyable day. The lunch they provided (sandwich on a French baguette), chips, dessert, and water was perfect for a picnic lunch. The tour visited everywhere we wanted to go. We would highly recommend. They were waiting for us when we got off the ship, and we got back to our ship at the time they promised.

This was so incredibly moving. I was both humbled and proud. I think everyone could benefit from taking this tour. Seeing this with your own eyes changes the way you think. So many lives given in a desire for peace and freedom for all. It is beautiful both to look at and to feel. I felt all the feels on this tour.

An excellent tour!! One of the best ever with Viator. Our guide Sam made this tour exceptionally enjoyable and informative. His presentation and technic was very professional. We really enjoyed his narrative and audio additions of prominent world leaders really pulled the historical perspective into visual view. The pace of the tour, the provided bag lunch and the various sites we visited were impressive. We were on a cruise ship and our tour was much better than some of our shipmates who took Normandy excursions from the ship. The price was great! We highly recommend this tour and especially if Sam is your tour guide.

If you are a history buff, it’s a gotta see, but with commercialization around Omaha beach it is not at all what was expected

Professor Sam was a fantastic guide. His historical knowledge was incredibly thorough. Sam did a great job of keeping our group on track and letting us know what to expect. It was easy to understand him. The lunch provided was delicious and very substantial. Finding the tour bus was easy, communication with the company was very good, and our driver was very intentional about getting our group back to the port ahead of schedule (bridge and traffic issues). I would highly recommend this tour. We loved visiting Normandy. Having an excellent and knowledgeable guide was a huge plus.
