Pidurangala Rock is adjacent to Sigiriya Rock and is the best viewing spot of Sigiriya Rock as it is only slightly lower. Pidurangala is a popular spot for sunrise as you can enjoy 360-degree views of not only the valleys but also Sigiriya Rock.

Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress

Legendary Past of Sigiriya According to the researches of Dr Mirando Obesekara, He identify the Sigiriya as a historical turning point of Ravana. Before 50 centuries Sigiriya named as Alakamandawa (Akasa Maligawa). The Indian ancient epic story “Ramayanaya” described the brother of Rawana (Kuwera/Waisrwana) is the owner of the Alakamandawa (Sigiriya). According to the Ravana watha Palm leaf book, Mayadanawa is the Architecture of the Sigiriya.He buid the Sigiriya according to instruction given by Vessamuni / Wishrawa Muni (Father of Ravana). Finally palace was dedicated for Ravana’s Brother King Kuwera(Waishrawana). After-wards the Ravana has banished the Kuwera & Got the Sigiriya under his Control.

    Its a wonderful experience to have a day tour with ishan.he is a best person who has guide us from kandy to sigiriya. He has very good knowledge about sri lankan history and very safe driving. Habarana elephants safari was trilling experience.wow.. village tour was fabulous and great foods,great village life experience. Thank you so much..

    I found isan from web.i saw his reviews.then I booked him for a 3 days tour in kandy to sigiriya then polonnaruwa after that he drop us to airport.he is absolutely a great person.he driver really safe.and his communication English is very good. He does explain about many things about sri Lanka's history.we are satisfied with his service.and also he has a very nice restaurant list.he has experienced about the places. We definitely recommend him. Ya great person and safe driving Thank you
