The reefs are teeming with parrot fish, foureye butterfly fish, sergeant majors, and wrasse. The variety is too long to list, so you should just come see them all for yourself. Ask one of the crew to see the Fish, Coral, and Shell Identifying Charts on board. SPREAD EAGLE II even provides lunch for the fish. With a little patience, you can get the fish to eat bread right out of your hand.

This trip turned out to be the best money we spent in Puerto Rico. Spread Eagle II’s crew is fun and professional. After dropping our shoes into a basket, we listened to a brief safety lecture, and then a light party mood came over the catamaran as the music was turned on and we set sail. We snorkeled in clear turquoise waters. Lunch was a fresh sandwich buffet with fresh cut fruit and packaged snacks. After lunch, they kept the snacks and beverages replenished. There after we sailed to an open water location to snorkel. The trip provides ample time for snorkeling, beach walking or simply hanging out on board. Access to a bathroom on board made the trip much more comfortable. I was impressed with the crews care of its passengers and the environment, as well as Captain John’s mad sailing skills.

What was touted as a snorkeling cruise was actually a trip to a small island beach with several other boats that were obviously party boats. Were were anchored there for almost 3 hours. When we finally went to snorkel, it was super shallow reef area with a couple of ordinary fish. Rum & pina colada served were watered down. The only reason that I even give a 2 star is that the shipmates were kind.

We truly enjoyed the crew and thought the area was lovely. We enjoyed the beach, but unfortunately, it rained and it was not good weather, so we headed back to the pier. The staff was fabulous! Mother Nature, not so much!

Of all the sailing/snorkeling trips I’ve taken, this one stands apart. A comfortable boat, an excellent lunch, great drinks and a crew that made you feel genuinely looked after. We’ll be back! TIP: Check the dock letter before parking and pull into the marina if needed (we parked on the main street because we assumed the groups of people were ours).

We were driven to the Spread Eagle II from the gate. Tracy, first mate, was fun and engaging as he drove us to the boat. When on the boat, we were immediately given water for hydration. It was a bright, sunny day. The first stop was a beautiful nature preserve beach. We went ashore and walked the beach and did a little snorkeling in the crystal clear water. To our surprise and excitement, a dolphin arrived and stayed to play. It was such a cool experience to be swimming with a dolphin! Back on the boat, we had a delicious sandwich buffet. Our second stop was the reef, where we snorkeled around the coral. There were all kinds of fish! On our return trip, we were under full sail. So peaceful and quiet to have just the wind. A great trip with fun crew members! A definite trip you should do while in Puerto Rico!

Terrific time. The Captain and his crew were highly skilled sailors and hosts. The lunch was simple but very good. The Pina Coladas weren’t bad either. Fun day on the water!
