Join a guided walking tour of Hobbiton with a local guide - note the terrain is uneven - please let us know if you have any mobility problems so we can try and get assistance for you
Te Puia
Te Puia is where we have a cafe lunch which is a mixture of Maori traditional and typical New Zealand food - Food is labelled and there is a wide range of dishes suiting all dietary requirements, Gluten Free, Vegetarian, Vegan. You have the opportunity to explore the Thermal Valley, See Kiwi Bird and to visit the Maori arts and crafts institute -

5.00This tour was the highlight of our trip to the north island!! Our tour guide Chris was phenomenal— so knowledgeable, hilarious, punctual, and compassionate. He truly went above and beyond to ensure we had a flawless experience at each sight, and even included a few bonus stops. We were a group of 5 20-30 year old Americans, and we chatted with Chris the entire day on topics ranging from New Zealand history, cultural significance, to life advice! The van was spotless and comfortable. Worth every penny. Thank you for the most memorable day!!!

5.00Such an awesome experience going to Hobbiton and Te Puia! Darryl our driver was so knowledgeable about everything. It was surreal to be driving through significant history. Darryl provided great context of everything, ensured we were on time for our activities, and was transparent of every step of the various transfers between cars and passengers. Hobbiton staff were so knowledgeable and friendly! And Te Puia staff were awesome as well. Loved the experience! If only we could spend 30 more minutes in each spot due to some time constraints but understand that it would be quite a long day of travel.

5.00Our morning tour driver Peter (I think?) was amazing and told us Māori stories on the drive to Hobbiton. He also pointed out landmarks we were driving past and was very helpful, especially as our trip involved us transferring between two different vans and drivers (since we switched vans after Hobbiton to get to Rotorua). I don’t remember the afternoon tour driver’s name but he was also good.

5.00The tour company, FlexiToursNZ mixed and matched tour groups and we had three different vans! Things went like clockwork except for one pick up issue they resolved with limited delay. Excellent lunch overlooking the geyser at Rotorua. Fully guided two hour tour at both Hobbiton and Rotoura. Rotoura included a kiwi habitat and the Moiri school for craftsmen.

5.00Fantastic visit to Hobbiton! Beautiful and amazing! So cool to see the actual film set and that it is preserved so well. The bus ride over was very comfortable and Katie was our fantastic tour guide. Highly recommend!

5.00we took the Auckland-hobbiton-te puia-auckland trip. pickup was prompt form our hotel in auckland. we had a different driver for each step of the journey but everything was smooth. hobbiton was a blast, so cool to see the huge set up close. tour got us and another couple on an earlier tour than the rest of our bus since we were going down to rotorua. i mentioned to them that I wanted to see a cultural show at te puia and they went out of their way to make sure we got there on time to do it. Te puia was also a very fun time between the concert, geyser, kiwi birds, and crafts studios. such a great way to learn about the maori culture.

5.00We are now home but I wanted to say, on behalf of our group of 8 people, we'd like to say a big "Thank you to Philippa Dean" for coming down to the Restaurant in Auckland, to take our money and make the reservations for us to the Rotorua & Hobbiton. It was a Very Enjoyable Day for us ALL! We have to say "Darryl" was SUCH A PLEASURE to have as our 1. Driver and 2. Such a Knowledgeable Guide and Excited to inform us all of how proud he is of his Country. He told us a lot of things both up and back for our 2 tours, 12 1/2 hour Day. We just wanted you to know how comfortable we were in the Vehicle, our stop for a bite to eat at "The Ally Cat", his information during the whole day was amazing! We will definitely recommend your company for anyone going to Auckland, New Zealand. Bradshaw's, Donohue's, Wardle's and Bellerive's.

5.00Excellent tour and driver/guide. Hobbiton was fun, Te Puia was culturally interesting. And dropped off at hotel in Rotorua, transport from Auckland to Rotorua.
