Chinese kung fu has evolved over thousands of years, with Southern-style martial arts known for their close-range strikes and power.
This journey takes you to the roots of Bruce Lee’s martial arts—Wing Chun, a Southern Chinese style. Foshan, just an hour from Guangzhou, is the hometown of Grandmaster Ip Man, Bruce Lee’s legendary teacher. Visit Ip Man’s ancestral home to learn how Wing Chun grew from street combat to a global art.
Then, train at an authentic Wing Chun academy with one of Ip Man’s direct disciples, learning the "Sun Character Straight Punch" and its core principles. In the afternoon, dive into lion dance, a Southern Chinese tradition blending martial arts, drumming, and lion costumes. After learning its history, enjoy a live show and try it yourself: lift a 3.5kg lion head, hold the horse stance, and learn basic moves.
Whether you're coming from Guangzhou, Foshan, or Hong Kong, this hands-on journey into Southern Chinese martial arts is easily within reach.

This was one of the best experiences I have had in China so far. The KungFu made me want to take classes, it was so much fun and the instructor was so friendly and willing to share. We learned about Wing Chun at the museum and about Bruce Lee's instructor. If you're interested in history, film and even just martial arts I defnitily recommend doing it. Ivy our tour guide was excellent in taking us through the different exhibits and explaining it to us. My favourite part was probably the Lion Dance, Benny the owner of the establishment shared so much of his knowledge with us and what the different Lion heads mean. We were even able to participate in it and try some of the heads on. The different Lion dances were also interesting to see, and to see how skilled the actual dancers are and how much work goes into their performance.

This tour was a really cool way to connect with the culture. Getting the opportunity to actually practice our own Kungfu and a professional demonstration of the Wing Chun style in person was impressive. Having our own experience made it way more powerful than seeing it in videos. The Lion Dance was another highlight, especially after learning what it represents. I’ve never seen it before, but this time having the background knowledge made it easier to understand it, which made it way more meaningful. I also liked how the museum tied in Bruce Lee’s influence, and where his skills came from. Our tour guides, were all super helpful and easy to talk to. They explained things clearly and made sure everyone was having a good time. It felt less like a tourist activity and more like being part of something real. Definitely worth it.

I had an amazing time learning about IP man and the different types of Kung Fu. We learnt some awesome moves as well. Our tour guide, Ivy, was very friendly and she did an amazing job with helping us understand more about the culture of Kung Fu and Lion Dance. We had our own private lion dance performances and it was definitely something I will remember. I could go on this tour again and it's a lot of fun with friends .

Unforgettable day in Foshan! Had the privilege of learning Kung Fu from an Ip Man disciple, following in the footsteps of Bruce Lee. The training was intense and insightful. Afterwards, we explored the vibrant Lion Dance culture, learning about its history and significance. The performances were mesmerizing! A perfect blend of martial arts, culture, and heritage. Highly recommend for anyone interested in Chinese traditions. Not forgetting the delicious Cantonese lunch! Flavors were authentic and dishes were expertly prepared. A satisfying culinary experience

The day trip to Foshan was really great. We started the journey in the Museum where peered on some artifacts that belonged to Ip Man, Bruce Lee's training. Ivy was walking with us the whole time and she made the walk much more meaningfull. We later went to the Kung-fu Dojo. Where we learned some Kung fu moves. It was quite intriguing to be there and learn Kung fu from one of the descendents of Ip Man. The Master was very happy and with us. We then attended a dragon dance. It was the first time seeing a live dragon dance. It was terrific to see such harmony with the moves live. When they finished, the performers were nice enough to give us their props so we could try it ourselves. My friends and I really had a lot of fun. If you're into Kung-fu and want someone to walk with you in this short journey of learning , then this day trip is definitely for you. I highly recommend

Our Foshan day trip was an absolute blast! Starting at Bruce Lee’s Ancestral Home, our knowledgeable guide brought kung fu history to life while weaving in fascinating details about traditional Cantonese architecture. The highlight? A kung fu workshop where we actually learned basic moves—so much fun even for beginners! In the afternoon, we dove into the vibrant world of lion dance culture. After watching a jaw-dropping performance by pros, we got to wear lion costumes and try drumming ourselves! The masters patiently taught us rhythms and dance steps, turning chaos into laughter.

Excellent day trip in Foshan! This is a neighboring city that is half an hour's drive from Guangzhou. It is also Bruce Lee's hometown!! We experienced Wing Chun teaching for over an hour. The teacher is very professional and handsome. The teacher's kung fu performance was really amazing. After the course, we had lunch. It was local cuisine and very delicious. I watched the lion dance performance in the afternoon and also tried to lift the props. It was very interesting.Only after listening to the explanation did I realize that there are so many types of lion dance heads in China and the production process is very complicated.I think this is a very interesting journey and a deep experience of Chinese culture.
