Not enough time to visit all of Krakow’s must-see places? On this tour, you'll visit two of Poland's most important UNESCO World Heritage sites Auschwitz-Birkenau and Wieliczka Salt Mine — in one day. Your day will start early, but this way you will manage to visit Auschwitz-Birkenau, the former Nazi concentration camp, and explore the Mine, and be back in Krakow by dinner time.

Please note that the maximum size of bags and backpacks allowed to carry on the Museum grounds is 30 x 20 x 10 cm. You can always leave your belongings inside the bus which will be parked nearby.

Please note that this tour is not available on: 25th of December, 1st of January, Easter Sunday and March of the Living Day.

Please note that to reach the first level of the mine (64 meters underground), You have to descent a wooden stairway which has 378 stairs. There are around 800 steps on the whole route in the Salt mine. After the tour, You will be taken up to the surface with a lift.

Temperature in the Salt Mine is approximately 14 degrees C (57 degrees F), please wear warm clothes and comfortable shoes.

Please note that admission tickets to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum are personalized. Each participant is required to provide their full name as it appears on their official ID during the booking process. Any errors in names or failure to provide this information at least 24 hours before the tour may result in denied entry to the museum.

What To Expect

Mr.Shuttle Tours & Transfers Krakow

The pickups are provided between 6:00 and 7:30 depending on your accommodation and our schedules. The pickup time is always confirmed by text and email the day before the tour. The tour is operated in a group of a maximum of 30 people. During the trip, you will watch a documentary movie about the history of the Nazi concentration camps.

Panstwowe Muzeum Auschwitz-Birkenau

Firstly, You will be taken to Auschwitz I, where you will join an English tour – provided by the museum’s guide – for about 2 hours. After that, we will transfer you to Auschwitz II-Birkenau, about 2 km away. You will spend there about one hour with the same guide. After Camp Auschwitz II-Birkenau, you will have time to eat our freshly prepared lunchboxes (which include chicken pasta salad, sandwich, sweet bar, fruit, and water). We also provide vegetarian, vegan, gluten, and dairy-free options. Please add a remark in your booking if you have any special requirements. Please note that the tickets are titular. Make sure the information in the booking is correct. Change of this data is possible for an additional fee paid to the supplier.

This experience was made amazing because of the great tour guides. Both at auschwitz and at the salt mine, the guides gave us interesting facts. In Auschwitz the guide was very respectful and gave us testimonials of survivors that we wouldn't have known if we had gone alone. In the salt mine the guides gave us had a happier approach (given the vast difference of the situation) with a lot of jokes

Picked up at 5.50am by a driver, no proper greeting just told to follow onto the bus. No address to the bus once everyone was on to say 'Hello, welcome to the service, heres what will happen today' - It was basically just a taxi service to Auschwitz then the Salt Mines. The lunch after Auschwitz was basic but very good sandwich and salad. Ended up getting back after the salt mines around 5.30pm so it was a very long day, not of the fault of the driver, but the long queues at each stop, plus two passengers being late to get back to the bus after the mines which was frustrating but again, not the drivers fault. Highly recommend bringing breakfast, as no coffee or anything is provided at the 6am pick up. Also drinks and snacks as you get very hungry with all the walking.

Absolutely stunning must do tour to Auschwitz-Birkenau and then on to the stunning salt mines with mr.shuttle arranged via booking.com. The tour guide at auschwitz-birkenau jerry was particularly excellent and really highlighted the tour for us with his knowledge. I can’t even explain this tour it was just stunning from start to finish. We were collected at 6am from our hotel and dropped off around 5.30pm door to door. We were at auschwitz very early but it was already tremendously busy. Without the guide there is a lot we would have either missed or not understood. On from Auschwitz to birkenau camp 2 to continue the tour and then a very decent packed lunch was provided to us all of consisting of a decent pasta salad, a large cheese / ham bun, chocolate bar & a bottle of water. After lunch we headed to the salt mines for the afternoon and again enjoyed a very thorough guided tour. The mines were stunning and even though there were a lot of steps down it was very safe. We pre booked to make sure we made the most of our visit and it was certainly worth doing. I would highly recommend this tour company, we really couldn’t fault them at all. If you only do one tour it should be this one.

Booked with Krakow Direct paid a little bit more compared to other companies but worth it for peace of mind as I'd heard of so many people's trip being cancelled. Great communication picked up earlier than booked 5.15am which was tiring but worth it for the 2 trips as we were only in Krakow for 4 days inc travel.
Glad to have done it but too long a day.

Mixed feelings about this one. The tour company was excellent with good communication and door to door pick up/drop off. Nice clean mini bus and helpful and informative driver. The tours themselves weren’t quite what we had hoped though. The Auschwitz tour was informative, but the groups were large and there was no time to stop and reflect and no opportunity to read any of the information plaques around the museum. It would have been good to have a little free time at the end of the guided tour to pause a little. Same with the salt mine, the guide was very professional and informative but it all felt a little rushed and the group was so large that by the time the end of the group had reached the area the guide was speaking of, the front had already moved on and were talking about something else. This is a good tour to do if you are pressed for time in krakow and want to get in two of the main sites, but if you have more time at your disposal I would visit them separately. No hesitation in using this tour company again though (Mr Shuttle), they were excellent.
