Gobustan Rock Art
The trip will be opened with visiting historical Gobustan. Exploring natural and architectural sights in Gobustan Rock Art, you will gain invaluable information about Azerbaijan’s history. The Cultural Landscape covers three an area of 537 ha and three areas of a plateau of rocky boulders rising out of the semi-desert of central Azerbaijan, with an outstanding collection of more than 6,000 rock engravings bearing testimony to 40,000 years of rock art. Gobustan is a semi-desert region which includes five hills well known for rock art sites: Kichik Dash, Boyuk Dash, Jinghirdag-Yazily tepe, Shongardag, Shikhgaya. Gobustan rock art seems to have clutched connections with the Western European Upper Palaeolithic open air rock art.
Mud Volcanoes
Azerbaijan is a unique and classic area where mud volcanism is developing on our planet. Over 350 types of mud volcanoes (active, extinct, buried, oil-producing, underwater, island volcanoes) are found in the dry part of eastern Azerbaijan and in the Caspian Sea adjacent to it. Due to the number, variety and activity of these nature monuments, there is no place in the world like Azerbaijan. Our country is considered a homeland of mud volcanoes.

We had an awesome day tour of the Absheron Peninsula. The Gobustan mud volcanos and national park and the fire temple were super unique. Baku private tours made our trip easy and comfortable. They were flexible to adjust so that we could be at the mid volcanoes at sunset. I highly recommend the tour and the company to anyone coming to Baku.

This tour was such a delight, made so especially by my our guide Fuad. With his friendly personality and enthusiasm for what he does, he helped us to appreciate the tour at a deeper level. Enjoyed the marvellous Rock carvings, Mud volcanoes and Flame mountain.

We had long day tour with guide Elnara and same driver Intiqam. Learned a lot from her about the petroglyphs in Gobustan and touched the mud in Volcanos area. We saw the fire temple and fire mountain in same day. If you visit those areas you will understand that why Azerbaijan called the name "Land of fire Azerbaijan". Highly recommended!
