A diverse range well knows Kartli region of cultural sites, including several historical, cultural, and landscapes. Since the first half of the III millennium BC, the area dates from classical to medieval, including and altered several times. The region was the home of gods and their earthly embodiment – priests, chiefs, and kings. Every layer of the ground keeps a memory of epochs. The region was standing over the crossroads of cultures. The significance of this arterial road was connecting east and west. It’ rocky road still preserves a clear trace of wheeled transport moving here over centuries. The region was, from time to time, ruled by Mithraism or Zoroastrianism. Sovereign priests performed pagan rituals here. On this altar, they offered sacrifice, glorified female divinity, lighted holly fire. To be continued during the tour.

I just am completing two weeks in Armenia and Georgia with day trips almost every day and this was by far my favorite! First, the sights themselves are awesome! The tour was made even better by our knowledgeable, passionate guide Aliana (spelling?). She was so full of life and even sang as we visited the caves! I especially liked that the entire tour was in English. Our driver Misha(?) was excellent too. Don’t miss this tour - the definite highlight of my entire trip!

Our guide, Alex, was very personable and professional. The lunch was fun with many dishes to try and, of course, all the historical sites were amazing.

We were so fortunate today to have two amazing guides create a fantastic collection of memories. A journey west from Tbilisi to World Heritage sights was made so much better by our safe, conservative driver Misha - and accompanied by our clever, informative, passionate and professional guide Eleni. We have come away with terrific photos and enhanced knowledge, but probably best of all was a deepened respect for Georgia and its people. Do yourselves a favour and choose a tour with these people. You'll love it.

It was my first time trying a tour booked through GetYourGuide and I was absolutely satisfied and happy for the tour with Gamarjoba Georgia Tours. Big big shout out to our guide Tako for the amazing explanation and patience throughout the entire journey, a lot of curiosity about the places that we were going to visit and about Georgia. The best parts was the Uplistsikhe Cave, a very unique attraction, and the view from the Jvari Monastery. We were very lucky also to see the merging river in two different colors and not many tourists around. Although we ended the tour a bit earlier than the schedule (I guess to avoid the traffic back in Tbilisi), I think the time she gave us for each attraction was enough overall.

If the road to Kazbegi happens to be closed, be prepared to lose the rest of your day in a boring ski resort, just looking for people skiing for hours. This is not publicly informed, and I would have never booked this tour if I knew about this.

Five stars isn’t enough for Ana! I’ve been on many tours, but I’ve never met a guide with this much energy and genuine love for what she does. Ana is a true professional and a joy to be around.
