A diverse range well knows Kartli region of cultural sites, including several historical, cultural, and landscapes. Since the first half of the III millennium BC, the area dates from classical to medieval, including and altered several times. The region was the home of gods and their earthly embodiment – priests, chiefs, and kings. Every layer of the ground keeps a memory of epochs. The region was standing over the crossroads of cultures. The significance of this arterial road was connecting east and west. It’ rocky road still preserves a clear trace of wheeled transport moving here over centuries. The region was, from time to time, ruled by Mithraism or Zoroastrianism. Sovereign priests performed pagan rituals here. On this altar, they offered sacrifice, glorified female divinity, lighted holly fire. To be continued during the tour.

I really enjoyed the one-day tour to Uplistsikhe, Gori, and Mtskheta. The itinerary was well planned and covered important historical sites without feeling rushed. Uplistsikhe and Mtskheta were especially impressive. Our guide, Nini, was knowledgeable and friendly, and the transportation was comfortable. Overall, it’s a great option for seeing key landmarks near Tbilisi in a short time. Highly recommended.

My 17yo daughter, 26yo son and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Maria, who was knowledgeable, friendly and fun. She is very engaging and speaks excellent English. We were driven in a comfortable small bus by a competent and safe driver Soso. The lunch was pretty amazing too, don't skip it. We recommend this tour without hesitation!

Our tour with Maria through Mtskheta, Jvari, Gori, and Uplistsikhe was great. Maria blended deep historical knowledge with an engaging, warm storytelling style that brought every site to life. From the beautiful atmosphere of Jvari Monastery to the ancient streets of Uplistsikhe, she highlighted details we would have completely missed on our own. Her pacing was perfect, her explanations clear, and her passion for Georgian history evident.
