Simply stunning landscapes, gardens and artwork. A full day tour of The Garden of Morning Calm, Nami Island and ends at Rail Park ride with a vigorous (but very doable) Bike Rail adventure. Our guide Lucia was very well prepared, and organized keeping us all well informed (including pictures, directions and information)and on schedule. Very good communication and wonderfully enthusiastic! The Garden of Morning Calm is the start, and was magnificent. A very well designed, diverse and maintained park, offers beautifully curated gardens. With a couple of hours, the walk through the garden was, well, very calming, especially after the early morning rain, that seemed to bring the flora and fauna alive! Next was Nami Island. A lunch was offered ( at extra cost) at a local restaurant just outside the ferry terminal. I don’t partake, but most in the group did and well very satisfied. To get to the island, a short ferry ride away…or an optional Zio Line ride was available (which I chose). It was a blast! My first Zip Line, and it was fantastic. Highly recommended! You’ll have about 3 hours to roam Nami Island, with gardens, artwork, many cafes and snack shops along with a water park, bike rentals, pedal boats, various animal and bird life (peacocks) and the like. It’s quite a marvel, and was a buzz with activity. Seems to be a popular resort-vacation destination. It was very interesting and the three hours kinda flew by. Took the ferry back which was a short ride and offer even more views of Nami! The day ends at Rail Park and a 15-20 minute bike rail ride (groups of 2-4 people) cycle the rail car through tunnels through lush, green mountains and a gently flowing river. The bike train wasn’t too difficult, and you are mostly either going gently downhill or over flats for about 6-8 km. The many tunnels (5 or 6) all featured their own art installations of lights, sounds and even bubbles. It was a hoot! After a short brake, you board a powered train to take you the final 2km and that allows pictures and a rest. Final bus ride (comfortable, air conditioned) back to Seoul takes an hour, and allows for a nice rest from the full day. All in all, a very enjoyable, highly recommended day.

We liked the Garden of the Mornung Calm while Nami Island seems more oriented to families with young kids. The rail bike was fun but unfortunately, the train to bring us back to the bus broke down so we had too wait for quite a while.

Jang Gun was a great guide, with a lot of patience for some customers who were not very cooperative on a very long day out. The Garden is compact and beautiful, Nami Island is larger, but more touristy and the rail bike is different and fun! It can get quite warm at all three locations, so be prepared with hats, sunglasses and sun block if going any time close to summer!

Gwan was a great guide, clear instructions and fun. The day was long but we cover some distance, the Garden of Morning Calm was beautiful with spring flowers. The restaurant Gwan recommended for lunch (own expense, very reasonable price) was delicious. Nami island was peaceful and Rail bike was fun to finish the day before returning to Seoul. Highly recommend for a day out of the city.

Beautiful gardens, for Nami Island it might help to know a bit about Korean films/actors. The bike train was fun even in the rain
