Xavier was a great guide and the tour itself was fantastic. Well worth the trip and cost and learned a lot about the countryside of Netherlands. Bus was on time leaving to each destination, the sun was out, the food we ate at De Lunch, the cheese tasting and wood clogging workshop in Edam was entertaining and tasty and Marken was a beautiful place to visit as well. Overall 5 out of 5 would take this chance again and let others know about this. Only thing is to make the bus and location of the beginning of the tour be found easier especially when it's 8am in December and dark still and the blue umbrella was hard to find Otherwise great trip! Thanks Xavier!

It was a very positive experience. Patricia was an excellent guide. The information you offered us before arriving at each location helped us maximize time. At each stop, he offered interesting aspects of the history and development of Holland. I recommend this tour 100%.

A really informative guide and a good trip. Our only disappointment was that we went to Zaanse Schans before it actually opened so we couldn’t go inside the windmills and were there for a very short time. Cheese and Clogs demo were fun but very short with the majority of the time in the shop although there was unlimited cheese samples.

In my opinion, it was a poor management both of time and of the group. The tour started 15 minutes late because they had to contact 2 tourists which didn`t show. The 2 tourists joined the group at the first stop and took the best seats in the bus, since we weren`t in the bus, but we were visiting the museum. The seats only seemed free, but they weren`t, having been occupied since the beginning of the tour, in Amsterdam. The guides didn`t tell them to respect the already occupied seats. As a result, several of us we had to change seats at the second stop, again following the rule: first come, first served, but this time without having any idea that the seats on the bus could have been changed. The stop at the commercial farm was without time limit. The stop for lunch was extended by 15 minutes, not previously announced. As a result, the tour in Marken was a real run, not having even few minutes free to use the public toilet in the centre of the village. The guides were polite and knowledgeable. They weren`t native English speakers, which was a good thing because foreigners could easily understand them. They were also very young and looked unaware about problems that elderly people could experience; my impression was that they acted as if all people in the bus had been at the students age (in their 20`s), which wasn`t true. The bus was a little bit too worn out in my opinion. Overall, it was for me an average experience, not up to the expectations created by reading the other reviews.

Richard provided a fantastic tour of some of the more unique spots north of AMS. I was surprised at the variety of locations, his historical knowledge, and the variety of things to do during the tour. His humor and pacing throughout the day kept the tour fun and lively, and the the tour was a good mixture of free time and guided as we traveled. Is unique background with both America and Amsterdam creates a Will balance tour as you can tell he respects to everyone who comes to the event. Although we had fairly large group (about 25) he did his best to make sure to speak with all of us individually on top of his main responsibilities. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who's interested in the history of the Netherlands outside of Amsterdam, you'll learn to appreciate the history that isn't always taught but it's still relevant to the country.

We really enjoyed our tour with Pia. She was extremely clear and easy to understand, and shared so much interesting (and often funny) historical information about the places we visited. The cheese farm was a definite highlight! This tour is a great way to experience several different locations in an efficient way if you only have a day to sightsee. We did the canal cruise after and were glad we did!

A complete excursion to learn about the history of these villages and part of Amsterdam, cheese works, with lunch option in the port of Volendam. The only thing I would put to improve is to have a little more time in each destination like about 30/40 min, because in Volendam for example it is short time as you want to have lunch you can not see anything of the place. Our White guide was great, a girl of 10.
