Welcome to the food tour that chronicles the history of Delhi as you sample the iconic delicacies that defined each era. We'll take you on a culinary sojourn where you'll learn how food cultures in Delhi changed as the city underwent many identities.
There is no one Delhi. However, one can see the many histories and centuries of Delhi being preserved by the diversity of people today who call it home. That also reflects in the capital's food.
The tour takes you on Delhi's culinary history so you must bring an appetite. As we try the most iconic food delights of Delhi, marvel at the change in landscape as you pass by Jama Masjid, Red Fort and through historic lanes of Old Delhi to architectural marvels of New Delhi.
Laden with history and stories and so much taste - this is a food tour you won't want to miss!

We start our tour with Old Delhi and travel back in time to the 17th century when the city was called Shahjahanabad. Exquisite architecture and extravagance defined Delhi then and that also reflected in the cuisine that was elaborate and artful and represented the close living of many communities such as the Mughals, Kayashths, Baniyas etc.
Connaught Place
We now learn how the British rule and years of partition altered the capital's culture fabric and food significantly. We learn about the influences on food during the British rule, the birth of a new cuisine of Anglo Indian food. We discuss the culinary journey of Delhi's food as we enjoy what is definitely India's most beloved beverage, which was popularised by the British.

We were fortunate to have a wonderful private tour with Nupam, who (safely) introduced us to the street food that we had been wanting to experience but would not do on our own. She was fun to be with, and we enjoyed every moment of the tour - traveling by door, tuktuk and car to experience the deliciously spiced street foods of Delhi, as well as Msala Chai and Mango Lassi. Our tour concluded at a very nice typical restaurant, and included a rooftop overlooking the city.

We were very lucky to spend our first day in India/Delhi with Prateek. His incredible knowledge of the city, history, food, and culture was extensive and interesting, and his enthusiasm was infectious. He had lots of patience for all of our questions and curiosities, and really went above and beyond to make our day unique and comfortable. Thank you Prateek!

Cant recommend this tour ebough. We did this as 2 couples on our first day in Delhi. Delhi can be very overwhelming but after this tour with Kush (our tour guide) we understood the local streets and local culture a lot more. Kush is very knowledgeable about the food and the area. He is also very welcoming and friendly we would now regard him as a friend! If we were to visit Delhi again we would definitely book something with kush. Last note, make sure you arrive very hungry!!!

I had an absolutely fantastic tour with Priansha. She was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging and the food was amazing. More importantly, she did a great job of structuring the history of Delhi around the food so we weren’t just eating for eating’s sake. I couldn’t recommend the tour highly enough.

What an extraordinary experience! I spent my first evening in Old Delhi with Pam as my guide. We sampled so many different foods and beverages and she was highly knowledgeable about the history and foods we sampled. She was delightful! We ended in New Delhi and the contrast was really amazing. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone. It was truly a highlight of my bucket list vacation.

This food tour was a highlight of our trip. Tanu took us to fabulous places in labyrinthian Old Delhi that we would never have found or had the knowledge to try. In addition to the food, we learnt about the history and culture of the place. Loved every minute and Tanu was a lively and fascinating guide!
