Delphi Archaeological Museum
Along with a professional guide, we visit Delphi - considered the religious centre of the ancient Greek world and the seat of Pythia, the greatest oracle. Located on the slopes of Mount Parnassus, the ruins of the Sanctuary of Apollo overlook the timeless beauty of the ancient landscape. People from all over Greece would travel to ask advice from Pythia, the oracle of Apollo. In fact, in some of the most important moments in history, her words had a great effect on the course of events, and it is recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
Temple of Apollo
The Temple of Apollo is the centre of an extensive archaeological site that includes the Treasuries of the Siphnians and the Athenians, a theatre, and a stadium. We also visit the museum, which houses the famous Delphic Charioteer and the statue of Antinous, the lover of Hadrian.
Arachova
The picturesque mountain resort of Arachova is one of the most popular places near Athens for skiing in the winter. There we will relax, enjoy the beautiful views, or have coffee at one of the many charming cafés.
Thermopylae Museum
We then visit the site and museum of Leonidas’ 300 Spartans stand against the mighty army of the Xerxes of Persia - Thermopylae, or the “Hot Gates”. The Spartans and their allies lured the Persian army to this narrow pass between the cliffs and the sea and although they were defeated, their bravery allowed the other Greek city-states to mobilise and finally defeat the Persians at the Battle of Salamis.
Finally, we reach Meteora, where we stay. We will have dinner and enjoy the view of the monasteries that we visit the next day.

My husband and I booked a private tour for Meteora and Delphi through CATTAXI. It was the highlight of our two week Greek vacation. We had so many wonderful hidden gems shown to us by Terry. He is a kind and wonderful man. He made sure every one of our needs were met. He also helps take care of the stray cats up by Meteora. We learned so much about the history and area between Athens. We highly recommend everyone book your getaway with CATTAXI. You will not be disappointed.

We were a group of 3 couples who wanted to see Delphi and Meteora from Athens. This overnight trip was the perfect length and did not feel rushed. Petros, our driver, was professional and knowledgeable and made helpful suggestions while letting us set the pace of the adventure. He was a wealth of knowledge about the country and was a joy to talk with along the journey. The van provided was just the right size and did not feel cramped in the back row seat. It was clean and water was provided which was appreciated. CATTaxi provided private guides at both Delphi and 2 monasteries who expertly navigated the attractions while providing helpful guidance of what we were seeing and the significance.

Memorable! Yes, the tour was expensive, but our experience would not have been the same otherwise. Panos was an excellent chauffeur, a true gentleman! He was with us for two full days and was able to fit so much within that time frame. The following day (on his day off!) he even sent suggestions for the next leg of our trip.

Fantastic experience for the whole family. Our family of 5 travelled in a huge luxury minivan, which included free wifi and charging ports. Sophia and Fanis ensured we had a wonderful time. We enjoyed a guided tour of the Delphi museum and archaeological site on the first day, before driving to Meteora for the sunset. On the second day, we had guided tours of 2 monasteries before leaving Meteora. We had a number of stops along the way back to Athens. The days were long but Sophia chatted to us and they made recommendations for meals at the stops and ensured we safely arrived at our accommodation each night. Highly recommend this tour!

If you are questioning if you should trust Terry with any transfers..don’t!! Just do it.. you won’t regret it! We booked the 3 day island cruise using Cattaxi Terry was quick to respond and answer any questions which I had via email. A real genuine person. He was extremely accommodating to come and pick us up in Nea Makri so that we can get to see these 3 beautiful islands. The driver was punctual at the pickup time as we had discussed . Car was super clean , spacious and new. I had booked the vip option as I didn’t want to be around such a big crowd as my immune system was compromised. Terry called me personally two days before to go over all the details and to let me know that he would try to get us an executive cabin so that I may rest in between island stops..but no guarantees. To our delight we were escorted to said cabin and were treated like royalty with top notch service which included drinks and appetizers as well a beautifully prepared fruit platter. Terry went above and beyond to give myself a day that my family will cherish forever! Thank you Terry!!

We loved this trip. My daughter wanted to see Delphi and I wanted to see Meteora. My husband was up for all of it! We had the most amazing drive Michael who got us from our hotel. He was personable and knew so much about Greek culture. We loved the individual guides we had at each site. We had so much fun at the monasteries! At one monastery we got to meet several men working on rebuilding and restoring which was awesome! On the trips, we had the best food at local restaurants and amazing service too. I am the one who plans the trips and Terry at Cattaxi was so responsive to all of my questions! This made planning the trip so easy.
