Arachova
Arachova is a mountain town and a former municipality in the western part of Boeotia, Greece, originally called Karyai (also spelled Caryae). Its name is of South Slavic origin and denotes a place with walnut trees. It is a tourist destination due to its location in the mountains, its traditions, and its proximity to the town of Delphi. Arachova has a panoramic view, uphill small houses, and the cobbled streets show a picturesque architecture. The town center includes a huge and steep cliff, the Bell Tower, covered with dense ivy. At the top of the tower is a large 10m height clock. Arachova is famous for its black wine, its "brusque", the colorful textiles, carpets and rugs, handicrafts, and woodcut creations as well.

Excellent day’s excursion with a really knowledgeable and personable guide/driver who kept us entertained and enlightened throughout a lengthy car journey. Delphi itself is amazing and the lunch stop was wonderful.

We really enjoyed our private tour, it was interesting, comfortable minivan and didn’t have wait on other folks. Our driver Petros gave us a lot of info during the drive since he does cannot accompany you inside.

We had the most amazing day with our driver Notis. He was so knowledgeable and interesting with a real passion for history. The Delphi museum and archeological site were definitely worth seeing if you love ancient history. We loved Greece already but our drivers passion for Greece was intoxicating.

The tour was great overall. Delphi was very interesting and we opted to get lunch, and all of that was good. For the same day tour, you do spend a lot of time in the car. Be aware that if your tour returns in the late afternoon, there is a strong likelihood that you will get stuck in rush hour traffic.
