Great Crew, But Conditions Weren’t Safe for a Good Experience

3.00We went out with Captain Dawn and her crew, and they were genuinely fantastic — friendly, professional, and clearly skilled. They did everything right on their end. But the ocean absolutely did not cooperate. About 30 minutes in, the wind and waves picked up so much that the trip stopped being enjoyable and turned into a “hang on and hope for the best” situation. We couldn’t really look at the scenery or move around, and most of the time was spent trying not to get sick. I’m sure the dinner they served was great, but all I could choke down was a few bites of rice — that’s how rough the conditions were. None of this was the crew’s fault, but it was pretty clear the ocean wasn’t in the mood for a sunset cruise. In conditions like that, the company really should have offered a refund or at least the option to rebook for a calmer day. Captain Dawn and her team were excellent. The conditions just weren’t safe or enjoyable, and the trip shouldn’t have gone out.

1.00Hi, I’m sharing my experience on the Lucky Lady catamaran tour booked through the Marriott Beach Club concierge on Kauai—and unfortunately, it was extremely disappointing and honestly felt unsafe. Although the captain & crew members did their best to keep the passengers calm. The weather conditions were very rough, with high waves making the ride intense and uncomfortable. Nearly everyone on board was getting sick 🤢, including many adults and small children who were crying and clearly distressed. Passengers were completely soaked from the constant spray and rough seas. This didn’t feel like a safe or enjoyable excursion, especially for families. There should have been better judgment regarding the weather conditions before proceeding with the tour. I would strongly recommend reconsidering booking this excursion in questionable weather, as this experience was far from what we expected.

5.00Fantastic trip. Got amazing views of the coast. Great stories and history from the captain. Saw picture perfect rainbows and whales. It is definitely a ride you get wet on, so dress/prepare accordingly 😉 but it was very worth it! There is an indoor area, though, so you can get to a safer place if water rides aren't your thing. If you are prone to motion sickness take something ahead of time as the water can be choppy.

4.00We didn't have the best weather the afternoon of our voyage but we decided to take our chances and go anyways. On our way to the Napali coast we got rained on but once we reached the Napali coast the rain stopped and it was amazing. The Captain and Crew made sure we had a great time. The views were breathtaking and as an added bonus the whales came out to say hello and put on a show! Mahalo for a wonderful experience!

4.00The weather was terrible. It rained for hours and poured right before we were to board the ship. We were allowed to cancel our trip, even though the boat went out. The conditions were awful. We appreciate this company giving us the opportunity to opt out and not charge us when the conditions were so poor.
