Ainokura Gassho Community
We will guide you to the Gassho Village of Gokayama Ainokura, a World Heritage site. In the Ainokura Gassho-zukuri Village in Nanto City, Toyama Prefecture, there are 20 Gassho-zukuri houses still in existence, and you can see a variety of Gassho-zukuri houses. People still live in these gassho-zukuri houses.
The Historic Villages of Shirakawa-go Gassho Style Houses
Shirakawa-go, a World Heritage Site, is a village where 114 thatched gassho-zukuri houses still retain the nostalgic scenery of old Japan. The steeply sloped triangular roof, which is unique to regions with heavy snowfall, resembles the shape of hands joined together, which is why it is called a gassho-zukuri house. Feel free to stroll around the village for as long as you like. * You can also enter "Shirakawa-go Gassho-zukuri Minkaen".

Excellent day. Our guide gave an excellent insight prior to the arrival at each stop. She provided maps and made recommendations

Smooth comfortable ride. The “guide” gives info in both Japanese and English. The info relates to what there is to do and not about the area. A tiny bit about the area. This is a bus taking you there and back. We were done with the second location within a hour, so too much time, but we choose to not do the museums there (repeat of the first place and also the heritage museum) or the observation point. The observation point would take an hour. We also brought our own lunch and ate by the river.

Great organisation from go to whoa. Communication excellent, ticket exchange from email voucher prompt. Details where to meet clear. Best tour we’ve had so far in Japan. Plenty of time in both Gokayama & Shirakawago. There was a traffic jam so our bus went another way to get to the tour bus carpark. Excellent coordination. Guide & driver great. Lots of info from history to where to eat, route to take around Gassho houses & anything after if you wanted. Five star!!
