Hugo and Rosa and their family and friends were the most welcoming and fun hosts for a lovely evening of delicious traditional food and genuine conversation. We had so many laughs and ate so much good food - we feel this was a great, local, home style experience that more travellors should try. We learned more about day to day lives on the island and the traditions and festivities Teceira has to offer. Their kids are both musically taleneted and put on a great show. After mentioning a love of cars, Hugo offered us a ride back to our hotel in his gem Suzuki samurai - what a riot and great way to kick off our vacation!

Wonderful hosts. The traditional food was incredibly delicious. We talked well and learned a lot about the island and the traditions. Since we also had two vegetarians with us, there was a vegetarian variation of the food. Thank you for this evening.

This was a wonderful evening spent with Hugo, Rosa, and their daughter. The food was delicious, wine (& liquor) poured freely, and conversation was warm and fun. We felt welcomed and enjoyed this cozy, authentic time with the Silva family. Highly recommend!

My husband and i really love dipping our feet into local traditions and meals when we travel and one way you can do it authentically is by having dinner at a locals house. You get to speak with the locals first hand, the food is prepared with love and their house is a mirror of their life. You get to experience their way of life which is something you cannot do at a local restaurant. This experience definitely did not disappoint! Hugo and Rosa prepared a great deal for this night and meeting another couple travelling in Terceira was also a plus! I would definitely recommend people to give this experience a try! And... The alcohol kept coming throughout the night :)

This family is lovely and engaging. The father has built the area of the meal (a well made man cave complete with deep brick oven, antlers in the bathroom and bar). The meal is Azorean and includes homemade bread and meat cooked for ages in the brick oven. The children are polite and even do a little musical entertainment. So it’s an evening to relax. This is not a teach-you-to make bread, or teach you about how the meal embodies the cultural traditions. There is plenty of wine with dinner and shots afterwards. Very nice.

We had an excellent evening with Hugo, Rosa, Laura, and Augusto. The home cooked meal was delicious . Augusto played his French horn for us after dinner. The meal and conversations were a night to remember.

Hugo and Rosa made us all feel so at home! They have a beautiful courtyard and the dining area was decorated and festive! The food, cooked in a traditional wood fired oven, was delicious. It was certainly a highlight of our trip to the Açores.
