The food is amazing and everyone is accommodating. Can be overwhelming because of the amount of people..

The experience began with a ride across the lake in an authentic 1912 steamship. We were then served a great buffet with many choices. After the meal, the farm was open to wandering among the different animal pens. The most entertaining activity was to see Joe and his amazing dog Echo as they showed us how they work to corral sheep from field to pen and pen to field. The show included Joe giving us a demonstration of sheep shearing.

The voyage on the TSS Earnshaw was great. Lunch at Walter’s peak together with the sheep shearing demo and sheep herding demo were terrific and then walking around the farm was really nice. Highly recommended!!!!

The cruise out to Walter Peak was great, even providing blankets for those sitting outside. Lunch was absolutely delicious with so much variety and plenty of food. After lunch we were invited to tour the grounds but was only given approx 20 minutes before the sheep sheering demonstration begun. This was not enought time. After the sheep sheering demonstration, we only had 15 minutes to view through the gift shop before having to get back on the boat. Everything after lunch felt very rushed and we didn’t get enough time to explore and enjoy the surroundings. This was a real let down for the trip especially given the cost of the trip.

We enjoy the trip with the old ship, the variety of food was good on the land buffet. We love to be there again next time.

What a fab old girl the TSS Earnslaw is at 113 years of age and still going strong with its coal fired engines (which you can view from a gallery). We took a trip over to Walter Peak for the evening gourmet BBQ and farm show. The food was amazing with every type of bbq meat included with salads, veg and fish choices plus plenty of dessert options too. We had booked in advance as this is popular and the only thing on the night that isn’t included are your drinks. Very well organised by the RealNZ team. The sheep shearing and farm show was an added bonus. All in all a brilliant evening.

The steamer cruise out to the farm was great and food was great. A little disappointed in the working dog show. No sheep were Shawn due to getting out of their pen and becoming damp. I was thinking the animals would have been closer for viewing.
