A guide in love with the city!
Fish Market
We start the tour in front of the Tourist Information Centre and the swanky Fish Market. Bergen’s famed fish market is also the right place to meet the central characters of its story.
Bryggen Hanseatic Wharf
Bryggen aka the Hanseatic Enclave aka the Unesco World Heritage Site is the most iconic of Bergen’s landmarks. We walk amid the medieval buildings to retrace the story of the city's development.

Don was an excellent guide offering local insights and historical information. Kept us moving by land and with a ferry ride at a very comfortable pace to learn the expanse of Bergen. Great personality and sense of humor too!

Our guide has a passion for Bergen, sharing his love of the city's history, we learned more than expected. The tour included the basic description of the wharf, with explanations of the history from 1100 forward, with the Hansa Germans making Bergen a hub for trade. We wandered through small alleyways and up side streets. While the ferry ride was simply over and back, it have a wonderful view of the city and it's Harbours.

Excellent visit, to do if possible upon arrival in Bergen. Don was a very friendly guide, he not only explained the history of the city very well, but also gave very good advice on places to visit, typical places to eat, have a beer... I recommend without hesitation!

Don was a terrific guide - knowledgeable, personable, organized, and well-spoken. He put together a fabulous and varied itinerary of this fascinating little city - from the ferry ride to the nearby island to the old city and its tales, to the famous hot dog stand - we had a terrific grounding to Bergen. At the end he gave us a “fact sheet” with recommendations and further information, which we happily used for the rest of our stay. We really enjoyed our time with Don and highly recommend his tour (and Bergen!)
