"Discover Bulgaria with dance" is the only workshop in Sofia that gives tourist the opportunity to explore the culture of Bulgaria with the art of dance. You will have the chance to learn a folklore dance and taste a traditional meal. At the same time our instructors will give you interesting trivial information and insights on the customs of the region. To top it off, you will take a photo in a traditional dance costume(garb).

What To Expect
The lesson is focusing on familiarizing the travelers with the Bulgarian traditions, especially regarding their folklore, by means of introducing particular geographic regions in Bulgaria. The presentation consists of general information on the respective region, the customs of its population, and of course concentrates on teaching an authentic dance (choro), relevant for the specific area. Schedule: 1. We begin with a brief explanation on the customs and traditions of Shopluka, the temper of the Shop, the typical authentic dresses and costumes (garbs) and needless to say the different types of dances characteristic for the area. 2. Learning one of the most traditional dances 3. Dressing up with traditional dresses and costumes (garbs) and performing the respective dance (choro) 4. Competing in a dance battle type game with prices for the winners

5.00Very well made and frankly somewhat fancy dance costumes we got to try on while dancing. We also learned three types of folk dances from three different regions. (how much you get to dance in the lesson depends on the learning speed of the group) Overall it was a wonderful cultural experience. Teacher was very nice and very encouraging. Thank you!

5.00It was super fun, very good cardio. Loved learning about the differences in clothing depending where you are in Bulgaria. Was a good history lesson too, made my time in Sofia worth it. The dances are great and easy, will hopefully use these skills at Balkan weddings! Instructor was lovely! Wearing the clothes was also fun, made it easy to dance in.

5.00So fun! The lesson was a blast. The teacher was very patient and supportive. It's a no pressure, cute environment to connect with bulgarian culture. Obviously, the clothes were a total hoot. The whole group loved it!
