5.00Gaetano was an excellent tour guide - both funny and very knowledgeable. This tour is definitely worth your time - you get a great history and understanding of Matera, and it gives you a good idea of what you might want to check out further on your own. You have time to take pictures and ask questions, and Gaetano can recommend many restaurants based on how casual or formal you want to dine. He also gives great advice on areas to explore and visit beyond the tour. I highly recommend, and I’m glad I booked the tour - the value for the money was great!

5.00Extremely authentic Tour Guide. He was born in this area, and his grandparentshe were part of the 1950s evacuation. He took us through several neighborhoods and helped us understand the historical significance. Plus, he was funny!

5.00We spent 15 days in and round the Adriatic and went on 9 tours while there. The tour of Matera by RENATO was by far the most exceptional tour of all. One of the best tours we have ever been on. A wonderful experience of learning about Matera mixed with his own family history made for a great day. Humorous stories mixed in wiht the history made it a delight. 5 Stars for Reanto and his tour.
