First of all, the experience begins with the boat transfer where the team will be happy to welcome you, at the reception pontoon of your hotel, or at the Vaitape quay. Once you arrive on the motu Taufarii, you will be given a fun introduction to the fascinating history of the Polynesian black pearl, and to pearl farming techniques. Then you will board the boat to discover, while snorkeling, near a coral garden, strings of oysters in their natural environment. The oysters are dived to a depth of 1 meter, and with the team, you will be able to browse the lines of oysters, and choose your own oyster to harvest! The luckiest among you may also have the opportunity to observe manta rays! Upon returning to the motu Taufarii, our team will proceed with you to open the oysters to reveal the precious black pearls! The experience ends with the tasting of local fruits and fresh drinks, in a sublime natural setting, with a breathtaking view of the lagoon and Mount Otemanu! Everyone will leave with the pearl collected, in a small sand bottle, or in a velvet pouch. And finally, everyone will be brought back to the meeting point.

A rich and exciting experience. The Tahi guide is great and gives all the necessary information for the proper understanding of the process of the birth of the pearl. It is beautiful! Mauruuru to the whole team!

We took a break from snorkeling excursions and tried this activity. We had a great time and would recommend this trip. We learned a great deal about the process of cultured pearls and it was fun to select our oyster and find what was inside. Mana and Manu, our 2 guides were great, very friendly, informative and fun. It is fun to bring home our own pearl too!

We had a really fun time doing this tour. It was informative and interesting and you got to take home a souvenir- your own black pearl! You appreciate it so much more after learning about the process. Mana was a gem of a guide and the whole experience was enjoyable from start to finish. Definitely recommend!

Beautiful and informative activity, super-nice atmosphere, welcome humor, and trophy: a Polynesian pearl to take away! Tahi, our "guide instructor", is very interesting, and at the same time very cheerful. He also told us a lot of anecdotes, some very fun, about the place of the activity and the island. We had a good laugh, because all the band present followed in humor mode! We also learned a lot, with all the explanations given, and the demonstration of pearl extraction, for the last step concerning the oysters caught and chosen by each of us. In the organization, in practice, you are picked up and taken to the pearl farm, and then taken back after the activity. Snorkeling equipment can be borrowed on site, as well as a large towel. A drink and pieces of local fruit are offered after the "fishing", just before collecting the pearls. To do, I recommend!

This was a wonderful experience on our honeymoon! The tour guides were amazing and I couldn’t recommend more. They also made sure that the kiddos on the tour were included in everything and they kept everyone safe. Great sense of humor! One of our favorite tours on the islands.
