First of all, the experience begins with the boat transfer where the team will be happy to welcome you, at the reception pontoon of your hotel, or at the Vaitape quay. Once you arrive on the motu Taufarii, you will be given a fun introduction to the fascinating history of the Polynesian black pearl, and to pearl farming techniques. Then you will board the boat to discover, while snorkeling, near a coral garden, strings of oysters in their natural environment. The oysters are dived to a depth of 1 meter, and with the team, you will be able to browse the lines of oysters, and choose your own oyster to harvest! The luckiest among you may also have the opportunity to observe manta rays! Upon returning to the motu Taufarii, our team will proceed with you to open the oysters to reveal the precious black pearls! The experience ends with the tasting of local fruits and fresh drinks, in a sublime natural setting, with a breathtaking view of the lagoon and Mount Otemanu! Everyone will leave with the pearl collected, in a small sand bottle, or in a velvet pouch. And finally, everyone will be brought back to the meeting point.

This was a wonderful experience on our honeymoon! The tour guides were amazing and I couldn’t recommend more. They also made sure that the kiddos on the tour were included in everything and they kept everyone safe. Great sense of humor! One of our favorite tours on the islands.

We had a fantastic time at the Bora Bora Pearl Farm! Our guide Manu and the boat caption (sorry that I forgot his name!) were so welcoming and funny throughout our two hours with them. They picked us up at our hotel and took us to their place, explaining the pearl making process. Then we went for a 5 minute boat ride to snorkel and pick out our own oyster. We finished back at their place to see if our oyster had an acceptable pearl it. Manu did a fantastic job explaining the process and building up the suspense, along with a lot of laughs as he opened our oysters. We had so much fun and would recommend this unique experience in Bora Bora!!

Such a fun and informative tour, both the educational portion and the oyster selection were excellent. The guides were funny and warm people, and we were very happy with the quality of souvenirs we ended up with. They made sure to keep everyone safe in the water and accompanied/assisted our nervous swimmer of the group at all times so she could still enjoy herself

This was my favorite experience in Bora Bora! Manu and Tahi were the best hosts and it was amazing to learn about how the pearls are produced, the amount of work that goes into them, and diving for / selecting our own pearl was such a unique experience! 1000% recommend and would honestly go again if we return!

This is one of our favorite experiences during our trip to Bora Bora in early November 2025. It was such a great time -- educational, interactive, and fun. The hosts are fantastic and the whole experience overall was just incredible. Learning about black pearls and how they are made, getting to dive in and pick your own oyster, and leaving with a beautiful souvenir made this afternoon a cherished memory. Highly recommend this activity!

the pick-up, transport to the motu without any worries thanks to their team, smiling and funny. Very good explanations about pearl culture, with photos, diagrams. Let's go get our oyster. A bit of swimming and if you are lucky muck will see beautiful manga rays extra. Once the oyster is in hand return to the motu for opening. And who knows luck will be with you!

Was this one of our favorite activities on Bora Bora? YES! We were thoroughly blown away by how much fun this adventure was! Not only was the educational part fascinating, but the process of obtaining a pearl was so cool! We swam, we picked our specific oysters, and we learned so much! And - great news - the oysters are not harmed in the process!! Our own black pearls are proudly on display in our home! MAJOR shout out to Manu and Tahi - they were hilarious and so much fun! They definitely made this activity so worthwhile! Plus - they played the ukulele and sang for our entire boat ride back. We are desperately waiting for the album to drop! These two are the BEST!
