First of all, the experience begins with the boat transfer where the team will be happy to welcome you, at the reception pontoon of your hotel, or at the Vaitape quay. Once you arrive on the motu Taufarii, you will be given a fun introduction to the fascinating history of the Polynesian black pearl, and to pearl farming techniques. Then you will board the boat to discover, while snorkeling, near a coral garden, strings of oysters in their natural environment. The oysters are dived to a depth of 1 meter, and with the team, you will be able to browse the lines of oysters, and choose your own oyster to harvest! The luckiest among you may also have the opportunity to observe manta rays! Upon returning to the motu Taufarii, our team will proceed with you to open the oysters to reveal the precious black pearls! The experience ends with the tasting of local fruits and fresh drinks, in a sublime natural setting, with a breathtaking view of the lagoon and Mount Otemanu! Everyone will leave with the pearl collected, in a small sand bottle, or in a velvet pouch. And finally, everyone will be brought back to the meeting point.

An amazing adventurous tour in Bora. Bora! Mona and Glenn were very knowledgeable and helpful with great personalities and a wild sense of humor. They took their job seriously but with so much fun and excitement blended in, it was very enjoyable and would recommend it to anyone! Our pearls were beautiful beyond our imagination, and my girlfriend has already had hers set in a ring!

The guides were so friendly. Really enjoyed the small group. Transportation and direction were easy breezy from the cruise port.

We had the most fun and educational experience harvesting our own pearl. It was more education than I expected. Who would not want to learn a little in the classroom, then gear up and in the end leave with a prize. Their staff also made it very magical. Mana and Tahi made us laugh and giggle along the way. They were like long lost friends. Wishing them the best and they are great ambassadors for this company and experience. It did take a little time opening the clams for the 12 on the tour but as I said the staff made the time fun and enjoyable. If you meet Tahi he loves it when you yelll “yooooooo whooooooooo”. Guaranteed to make him laugh.

My mom and I had a fantastic time on this excursion! Manu made it very entertaining and informative. This is something we will never forget. We can’t wait to turn our pearls into something memorable!

This was one of the most fun excursions we have done on our French Polynesia trip for our honeymoon. Manu was hysterical but also very knowledgeable about pearls, the local culture, and any question in general regarding local resorts. Price was very affordable for what you get and get to do, around $200 USD per person. Our trip was around 2 hours from pickup to drop-off. Our boat had 6 guests and everyone had fun time joking around. Overall it was a 10/10 experience and if we ever get the chance to come back to Bora Bora this will be a must do excursion.

Tahi was a great guide and I would highly recommend this activity when visiting Bora Bora. You get to choose your own oyster and keep whatever pearl you find. If you don't find any, they pick a few extras so you get a second or third try if you don't have luck with the first one.

Mana and Tahi: Thank you for a wonderful experience! Very entertaining and friendly tour guides. The pearl harvesting and grafting explanation was very interesting and made getting our pearl more enjoyable. Since I don’t know how to swim, Mana was very patient and made sure I was comfortable and safe the whole time and that I was still included in retrieving an oyster basket. thank you for the lovely and unforgettable experience! Māuruuru!!!

I joined the tour from 13:00. Departure from Intercontinental LE MOANA by car at 12:00. We were rocked by a car for about 15 minutes (it was beautiful to see the right side of the island) and then waited a few more minutes before boarding a boat and picking up a couple at the Westin Hotel port to Pearl Farm. During that time, our tour guide Tahi talked to us constantly, which was fun. He was also interested in Japanese and talked a lot about anime and Japan-related topics in English. They answered a lot of questions and we had too much fun from start to finish, sharing jokes! Clean towels, snorkel mask and fins available for rent. Regarding choosing shellfish, I choose one net containing several shells caught on a rope in the sea. Choose one more shell from among them. My choice of shellfish didn't have one in it, but they let me choose another one and I got a dark pearl that was not round but simple! My husband chose shellfish pearls that were round and small, but beautiful dark pearls. If it's pearls that don't contain pearls or have a mumble, they're kind enough to let me choose other shellfish. (You can choose as many times as you like if you say so.) They put pearls in a cute bottle and you can take them home. It was such a wonderful memory! I like beer, so I was able to drink hinano beer before opening the shells and watched the pearls being taken out of the shells with a lot of tension(o^^o) On the way back, they took me to the hotel by boat and enjoyed the cruise. It was a memory I will never forget.

Manu & co captain were friendly, fun and comedic. We learned a lot about Pearl making and the Pearl farm. I love that they use organic material at their farm instead of the plastic other Pearl farms use. They are a very smart and innovated Pearl farms We went out in a boat and clipped a line with 8-10 oysters on it. We got back in the boat and selected an oyster from the line. While in the water I got a stinging sensation in my throat and on my left thigh. I mentioned it to the tour guide but he told me the shower didn’t work and didn’t offer any aid. It itched and burned badly. I poured my drinking water on my throat and thigh. That night I noticed dozens of raised bumps that hurt. I happen to see Manu the next day at the dock and showed him. He said it looked like stings from baby jelly fish. He suggested aloe vera. Manu is a great showman and made an experience of opening everyone’s oyster. I’d do this experience again just for his comedy routine. He was the best thing of this tour, not the Pearl. He made everyone feel excited about opening their Pearl. I feel that this experience was overpriced and the pearl received was not good enough to set in jewelry. For this price I would have preferred it to be private and not with 12 other snooty couples that we had to stop at 4 resorts to pick up. The dive for the pearl was not anything more than getting in the jelly fish infused water and unclipping a string of oysters. I would much have preferred just selecting my oyster from a preselected strand such as I did because the string I selected had oysters that were too small and didn’t have a pearl in it. The water portion was completely unnecessary and was not a 10’ dive to get as we were told at booking. I had fun but the majority of the time ( 1 hour of the 2 hour tour) was spent on the boat picking up and dropping off other passages. 30 minutes was opening other guests pearls. Plus they were 15 minutes late picking us up. The whole thing could have been done private in 30 minutes.
