Teatro Massimo
The Teatro Massimo Vittorio Emanuele is an opera house and opera company located on the Piazza Verdi in Palermo, Sicily. It was dedicated to King Victor Emanuel II. It is the biggest in Italy, and one of the largest of Europe (at the time of its opening, it was - with its area of 7730 m² - the third largest opera house in Europe after the Palais Garnier in Paris, and the K. K. Hof-Opernhaus in Vienna). It is famous for its perfect acoustics.
Galleria delle Vittorie
The Galleria delle Vittorie (Gallery of the Victory) was built as a commercial mall with an entrance on 301 Via Maqueda in central Palermo, region of Sicily, Italy. The five story structure has deteriorated over the decades, though restoration was attempted.

Great overview of historic portions of Palermo. Was disappointed that we were not able to go into more of the structures specifically the Palatine chapel to see the mosaics. Renate was an excellent tour guide and was able to answer all our questions.

We did this walking tour the day after arriving in Palermo. Our tour guide (Renata?) made it so interesting and fun. She was very knowledgeable and included lots of fascinating historical information as well as anecdotes, tips for things to do/places to visit during our stay. We always book a walking tour to start our trips and this was one of the best! And the delicious cannoli we were each given was a bonus 😋

The city walk with our guide Renata taught me so much about this beautiful city. A perfect blend of history facts (from ancient times to modern times) architectural styles, local markets, and tips to make the most of your visit. Perfectly good to follow English. The three hours flew by. The distance you travel is not so bad (2.5 km) because of the clever order of the sights. Nice extra, a delicious canolo!

Our guide Jade was very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. We had fun walking around the town with her. At the end of the walk she treated us to the best cannoli we had anywhere in Sicily.

We had a great tour guide. He had a deep knowledge about Palermo and Sicilian history and culture. I appreciated the details about the various sights that he gave us. There was no question that stumped hi. He spoke clearly and kept his narrative interesting. I also appreciated having the earbuds/radios. Palermo is a loud city, but not once did have a problem hearing our guide. Grazie mille.

I had such high expectations, but it wasn’t a good tour. The guide wasn’t really into it, made some weird jokes, didn’t follow the actual historical timeline but jumped from past to present to past. Talked in circles and repeated the same information multiple times. We finished earlier, which is crazy - in such monumental, significant and complex city as Palermo, she couldn’t find material to fill 3 full hours. It was just all over the place. The worst walking tour I have ever done.
