Great tour to learn about the history, architecture, food scenes and life in Palermo. It was a rainy and cold day but we enjoyed a lot. Our guide Valeria was fantastic. We would recommend this tour as a "starter" of a Palermo visit...

A great tour with the local guide Valeria. We had a group of 9 and it was a deep historical perspective of how Palermo came to be today. Valeria spoke brilliant English and was helpful and attentive throughout the tour. There was a coffee stop and a lovely treat at the end. This made the following 4 days in Palermo really lovely as we knew the city and great places to eat. Highly recommend this tour when visiting Palermo.

Good tour, in english. Saw a number of sites and good historical insights and context. Guide was knowledgable and spoke good english. I asked for a stop, appears to not be generally included but they do need to think about a coffee and toilet break.

Simone was an excellent tour guide. We went through the sites at a very nice pace while he provided historical information and legends about each one. It was a great way to get acquainted with the city, the sites and also the Sicilian food. I highly recommend this tour!

Peter was our tour guide, and he really knew the city. It was a 3-hour adventure. Peter explained that there was very little government support for the southern part of Italy. People had to pay to go to school, and there was not much of a police presence, so crime rates were high. The mafia bought all of the politicians, and there was much corruption in government. As we walked through the narrow streets, cars and motorcycles would drive through the crowds, even though they were supposed to be pedestrian areas. The temperature climbed as we made our way through the busy streets. The markets were so interesting with every type of street food you could imagine. Prices were very cheap. We wished that we could spend some time shopping, but our guide kept everyone moving. This would be a good tour to orient yourself to the city, and I wish we could have spent some time shopping. However, by the end of the tour, we were too exhausted to even consider it. Our city tour continued with a visit to Quattro Canti (Four Corners) with its beautiful baroque artwork. It is the center of the city. We then went to the Palermo Cathedral and had cannolis with our group. The cathedral was stunning inside and out, and Peter explained the significant areas. It makes such a difference when you have a guide. We ended at the palace, and I found us a taxi back to the ship (just as Peter was explaining how bad the taxis and public transportation is in Sicily).
