We did the Discovery Tour at Uile-bheist Brewery & Distillery on December 26th at 8:30 p.m., and it was the perfect way to end our very first day in Inverness. We were coming straight from an 18-hour flight from Argentina, and despite being tired, this experience completely exceeded our expectations. I went with my husband, and we had an absolutely wonderful time. It was a fantastic first introduction to a distillery experience. Our guide, Tabbie, truly made the night unforgettable — she was outstanding. Funny, incredibly knowledgeable, and full of fascinating stories and history, she was everything you could hope for in a tour guide (and more!). Thank you, Tabbie — you were amazing. The beers were excellent, and we also had the chance to taste their whisky blends, which are designed to reflect the style of the whisky they are currently maturing. As a newer distillery without its own aged whisky yet, this was a really interesting and enjoyable approach — and both blends were delicious. It’s also worth mentioning how lovely and welcoming the bar is. It’s a place you’d happily return to at any time of the year, whether you’re visiting Inverness or live locally. A huge thank you to Tabbie and the entire Uile-bheist team for such a memorable experience. Highly recommended!

I really enjoyed the tour of the brewery with Ali. If you enjoy beer and whisky it's a must do. The tasting at the end was a particular highlight.

Ali, our tour guide had great knowledge on the history and start up of the business, however, his knowledge on the production of product was flawed and the tasting was not as advertised (no new make spirit) no guidance through the tasting, left a little disappointed, feeling it wasn't value for money!

Very enjoyable tour. The guide was very informative and enthusiastic and clearly loved his job. I loved the whiskey I sampled and the beer sold at the bar is excellent as well.

Do not waste your money on this tour, information on the distilling and brewing process was decidedly lacking. I’ve done a lot of tours and have never heard so much waffle. No facility for drivers dram, 1/3 of a pint and a small dram does not reflect the £35 price tag. Emailed twice to complain and did not get a reply, clearly not interested in customer satisfaction

An interesting concept worth visiting for any whiskey/beer enthisiast. Another pluss is that it's in the middle of Inverness, for those who don't like being bussed around on tour busses. Knowledgeable staff, cosy atmosphere in the bar 🍺🥃👍

The tour was ok and it was interesting learning about the production of beer and whiskey. Although it was difficult to tell if he was talking about brewing or distilling at times. He was quite knowledgeable though but kept looking at his watch as though he couldn’t wait for it to be over. He wasn’t overly keen on answering questions either which was a shame. I don’t think the ‘tour’ lasted more than an hour and then it was time for the very disappointing tasting. There was a tiny glass of beer and a very tiny glass of whisky. Considering I had paid 3x £35 it felt like a rip off. The whisky was bought in blended and not their own which wasn’t great but I can understand that whisky has to mature but maybe they should make this clear when booking. Only one beer to taste and about a quarter of a pint. We wondered why we couldn’t taste the other beers they brew. It was very odd and the tour guy couldn’t wait to dash off and we were left to feel very deflated. Altogether very disappointing considering the price for what should have been an amazing experience from a new business. An expensive mistake which I wouldn’t recommend.
