The military closed the DMZ over most of Chuseok and funneled all tours to one day, then allowed a very limited number in. We were not able to visit the DMZ which was not the tour company’s fault; when signing up they warn people that the military sometimes closes the area. We still had a fun time. Jay was our guide and gave us a history lesson and we were still able to visit Imjin Park, the observatory, and the suspension bridge. Viator gave everyone a 30% refund (the bus took a vote and chose this option rather than forgo the whole tour for a full refund). If we return to Korea we would try again.

Accidentally went on one of the most crowded days of the year but Michelle, our guide was an absolute superwoman. She facilitated us all through an early morning leave, the chaos at the DMZ and did her absolute best to make sure we were well informed on the history and the process of the day as it kept evolving. Would not recommend going during Chuseok but would recommend going here with a guide

Chloe from PLK Travel put on such a great tour of the DMZ. She was so knowledgeable of the Korean history. Everything ran on time thanks to her management. The DMZ and Tunnel were cool. You can’t take photos which is a shame but still great to see. Thanks and we will be back for the JSA tour.
