This company is very professional. They have all the clothing items you’ll need. It’s family run and they truly make you feel like you’re a visitor in their home. The people that lead you on the sled experience are individual contractors. They hire wonderful professionals. We had Luther and he was friendly and informative. We had a great time. I highly recommend this company.

We were excited about the dog sledding experience but left feeling very disappointed. Our guide, Timmy, seemed completely uninterested, he didn’t introduce the dogs, barely spoke unless asked, and even ignored some of my partner’s questions, which was awkward. The photo time was poorly managed. While the groups ahead of us had plenty of time for photos, we barely got a chance. As soon as we took a few pictures, Timmy told us to stop and get back on the sled, even though we then sat around waiting for several minutes while the other groups finished. Seeing other guides enthusiastically engaging with their groups made the contrast even worse. Timmy’s lack of effort left us feeling undervalued, and for the price, this was far from the memorable experience we hoped for. I hope the organizers improve training to ensure guests feel welcomed and enjoy their time.

Great fun and totally worth the cost. Jimmy and Joe were great mushers and guides. Our kids want to do it again.

Top notch experience with Rod's Alaskan Guide Services! Proud to support this Veteran Owned business and recommend Rod and team to anyone interested in an Alaskan adventure. Rod, his family, and his crew were helpful, friendly, kind and more than accommodating, they took great care of our small group and made sure our experience was safe and exciting. If any of us need some extra gear to stay warm, they made sure we were set up proper. Afterward, we really felt at home sharing stories and laughing while we waited for our taxi to take us back to Fairbanks. The Mushers, Steven and Emily were very kind, informative, always professional and made sure not to leave out the fun during our dogsled ride. Of course it was the sled dog team that made the experience exceptional and meeting the team was a great part of the experience. There are not enough stars to rate the event, Rod's Alaskan Guide Services gets them all! Thank you Rod and team for an amazing experience.

Luther Buhr was the absolute best guide! He made the experience so much more and we are grateful to have been able to do something like this! The scenery was incredible and we learned a lot about the art of dog mushing. Bonus - it was snowing during our time!! Double bonus - we got to pet all the doggos!!! Would do this experience a million times more if we could! 1000000/10 experience!
