It’s not every day that you get to paddle your way down a mangrove creek forest that has been there for over 10,000 years. We kayak up close to shipwrecks, relics of a bygone era (weather/wind permitting) and along the way have the opportunity to spot dolphins. It’s a special experience that simply can’t be replicated, which is why Dolphin Sanctuary Kayak Tours is a must-do!
Our guides are marine biologists who have experience and knowledge of working with marine mammals and wildlife. Participants don’t need any prior kayaking experience, and we travel at a comfortable pace to accommodate reasonable fitness levels.

Please note departure times are varied due to tide times and it is essential that you arrive 15 minutes prior to departure time.

5.00Kayaking has got to be the best way to see dolphins. I cannot believe I'm lucky enough they have come right up close, and because you're in a paddle boat, just on the surface, it's like they're magnified. The mangroves and the stories, all magnificent, so much wildlife, so many birds, best times ever.

5.00As oldies that have never kayaked before we were a little bit nervous, but our guide explained everything in an informative briefing and made sure we were safe and accounted for. We were lucky that the dolphins decided to take the same route as our tour so we got to spend plenty of time admiring them. We had rules around the approach limit to dolphins which were respected by the guide, but they decided on a couple of occasions to approach our kayaks, an absolute delight! We also had great conditions and learned a lot about our beautiful surroundings. Thanks, Paddy, for a great morning

5.00Perfect morning out on the water. Great team of guides who were all passionate and knowledgeable. Mangroves and shipwrecks were awesome and as an added bonus we had a great time drifting along watching a mother swimming with a playful calf. Special thanks to our guide, Paddy, for making it a memorable tour.

5.00I would recommend this tour to anyone staying in Adelaide that would like to get out the city and see something different. The staff were so kind and friendly and made us feel welcome. A special shout out to iggy the dog who was a cutie. The tour was around 2/3 hours long and was filled with information about all the parts of that area. A big special shoutout to Liam who was very friendly and informative throughout. Even though we got to see dolphins and kayak through the mangroves, I would say liams positive energy made the experience. We wish him all the best in his studies and travels and are sure he has a bright future ahead of him. Thank you again to all the team. And thanks to the dolphins for paying us a visit. 10/10

5.00Morning of kayaking exploring Garden Island and Torrens Island, objective to see dolphins. No prize unfortunately, did have a lot of fun though. Shipwrecks and mangroves, tour guides Paddy and Mark extremely knowledgeable of the area.

5.00After confirming our weavers were comple, we were fitting up with life vests, paddles and optional dry cases. We had a little bit of a tutorial and safety chat before heading out onto the water. The weather wasn't that great, a little choppy and trying to rain, but that didn't hold us back. We had various sightings of bird, fish and a dolphin. We sadly didn't make it out to the shipwrecks due to the strong tides that day, but all in all, a good day travelling around the mangroves and estuary.

4.00They provided about all that you needed. Bring a water bottle with water. Be ready to paddle a bit. Nice tour. No dolphins but that can't be helped.
