Not to be missed. Lake Manapouri is a real bonus when you consider Doubtful sound to be the main event

A spectacular experience. Weather was sunny and there was no end to beautiful vistas. Our smaller boat was perfect with fewer people than on larger vessels. Staff were excellent and a small food and drink outlet made it easy for refreshments.

Along with the cruise through Doubtful Sound, there are two bus drives involved, as will as a trip across lake Manapouri.

Just book it. We’ve done Milford and Doubtful and this is the better of the two. You also get a great chat from the bus driver ‘Chris’ on the way to the first lake - well worth the money.
