Experience an 8-hour day trip into the remote wilderness of Doubtful Sound, the heart of Fiordland National Park, while nature guides answer questions and point out landmarks. This fiord is home to bottlenose dolphins and fur seals - both are often seen. In season, you may even catch a glimpse of the rare Fiordland crested penguins. Explore Doubtful Sound's vast waterways on board a luxurious vessel. A highlight is experiencing the unique 'Sound of Silence', where you hear only birdsong while floating on the fiord with the engines turned off.

It was an exciting experience with beautiful scenery. The boat ride over lake manapouri than the bus ride and the highlight Doubtful sound.

This tour was well organised and professional. The real nz staff involved were warm, welcoming and knowledgeable. We particularly enjoyed the coach trip with Tony who made us laugh! We were lucky to have great weather to be guided through the spectacular scenery on the boat. Orlando had a lot to share to enhance the experience. Unfortunately, I can’t remember our coach driver’s name for the return journey but he is married to Michele. He allowed us to stop for spectacular views and was good fun. Well worth the cost - a fabulous day.

It is an amazing experience that is unforgettable! The price was extremely reasonable for an all day adventure! It ran very smoothly and our transfers ran on time like clockwork! The boats were spacious & clean - not overcrowded, which I was very happy to see! The busses were driven by knowledgeable drivers with excellent history & commentary! I would HIGHLY recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience New Zealand as it was 100 million years ago!

Nice trip not what I'd call amazing or breathtaking. 1st boat over was super snazzy and nice, boat back was awful. So so loud, with a high pitch ring the whole time, was not pleasant. The "middle" boat ride in the sound was really nice, saw dolphins and seals which was awesome and the views were lovely. To be honest, the views from the bus drive in the middle were the best, by far... was a big day for not a lot unfortunately. Did Milford sound the day before, and again saw dolphins and seals... Trip was nice and I wouldn't say dont do it, but dont have it to high on ypur list either

The whole trip was excellent. Check in was easy and plenty of room on the boat to sit or wander outside. Good commentary on the coach from a great driver. Views on the Sound were amazing and it was so quiet and peaceful.

We were really lucky that the sun was shining as soon as we got to Doubtful Sound. We were the only boat - that was great! Unfortunately, hardly any explanations about country and people all day. Very long day with arrival and departure in the van.

A fabulous day on the expansive and beautiful Doubtful Sound. The staff at each point in the journey were welcoming and helpful. The coach drivers in particular made the drive over Wilmot Pass informative and entertaining. Our only criticism was the lack of fluency in the transition between journey stages. There seemed to be no reason as to the lengthy wait to board the coach after crossing Manapouri Lake and even more so when waiting to board the boat to travel back across the same lake. We were kept standing outside in cold weather and with sandflies attacking us for 40mins with no word from staff or any explanation once on board. Despite this, our experience was positive.

Half the experience of the Doubtful Sound cruise is the journey to the Sound by boat and bus. The The cruise was great. The Milford Sound cruise may be more popular and dramatic, but the Doubtful Sound cruise should be on your list, if you have the time and money.
