Porto
Your experience starts at our Meeting Point, next to S. Bento Station and you will meet your guide that will drive you to the Amarante, our first stop. On your way to the Douro Region, your guide will give you insights regarding the Portuguese history, development and cultural facts of portuguese heritage.
Amarante
Amarante, our first stop, features the majestic Serra do Marão and the river Tâmega, which flows through the city and adds charm to its picturesque houses. The city, possibly founded by the Roman centurion Amarantus, links the provinces of Minho and Trás-os-Montes. In the 13th century, St. Gonçalo, a Benedictine monk and the city's patron saint, built a bridge over the Tâmega. Amarante is also renowned for its sweets, including papos de anjo, brisas do Tâmega, toucinho do céu, bolos de São Gonçalo, and galhofas, which can be found in local cake-shops and cafés.

The perfect way to explore the Duoro Valley and all the beautiful scenery. Knowledgeable tour guide and many included activities. Jose and Miranda were the ultimate hosts. Such a value for all the things included. Boat ride was spectacular. Lunch was delicious. Port tasting and tour was very educational. Highly recommend!

The entire tour felt very rushed. The guide was always pressuring us to be quicker. Lunch was great but we couldn’t finish it since the bus was leaving. The view is amazing though. I wouldn’t recommend this tour.

We have done a lot of tours throughout the years all over Europe, and I think this was the worst tour we have taken. it could have been the tour guide who was indifferent to the group and did the bare minimum. When I came back from the tour, I went back on Viator to check past reviews. I determined I should have really looked at the 1 star reviews this tour got and ignored the “Best of the Best” (which it was not) label. I recommend before booking this tour — read the negative reviews carefully. I found most of them accurate and wished I read them before the day so I didn’t waste my day
