Leaving from Porto, meet your tour guide at 08:30 a.m and travel to the beautiful Douro Valley in a comfortable climatized vehicle.

After the first stretch of the journey you will be visiting a small family owned vineyard, with a wine tasting of their own production.

Next enjoy a scenic drive through the world famous National Road 222, to the heart of the Douro Valley (Pinhão) where we will embark on the unique experience of doing a short 45 min cruise in the Douro River, to soak in the beautiful landscape while admiring the terraced hills with the quintessential vineyards and estates that turn the margins of the Douro River into one of the most unique in the world.

Then, in order to complete this experience, enjoy a traditional lunch in a vineyard of a small-medium producer, finishing with a delicious port wine tasting, at their cellars.

After a full day of exploration and discovery, relax and enjoy your journey back to Porto.

Parents should bring the baby car seat ajusted to infant's age (1 to 3 years old). We only have seats available after 4 years old.

This tour may be done in two languages. We try to avoid it, but sometimes we have no other solution.

Private option it's done in a private vehicle only with your private guide. The vineyards and rest of the locations are shared with other participants.

For lunch we provide meat, fish, vegan and vegetarian option.

Reschedulings with less than 24 hours before the start of the tour will be charged a 30% fee (subject to availability);

We do not recommend that you book or schedule different activities at the end of the tour. Although the tour may last 9/10 hours, the duration may vary depending on traffic conditions and other factors.

Please be aware that the activities which we visit, such as vineyards, restaurants, etc, are subject to 3rd party availability and other groups/participants may be with the your group during the experience.

The pick-up service is only available for the ones that choose the option "Small Group Tour - Up to 8 people" and "Private Tour".

Please make sure that you have breakfast. Keep in mind that we probably will only stop at the first activity. We may not have time to make a pit stop before arriving to the first vineyard.

On the private option infants or childrens must be booked as an individual adult/place. Prices shown are per group/vehicle.

From Chicago to Lisbon to Porto; a ten day trip. Our highlight of the entire trip was doing the 10 hour Douro Valley Wine Tasting Tour with our amazing guide, Rita! Our group of 19 people were oddly, all from the US. We bonded together as Rita had us laughing the entire day. The Port wineries were small ones, where we felt “special” as the only people there. The scenery in Douro is beyond beautiful! I highly recommend this trip, and you will likely get Rita as your guide since she does this tour DAILY, being the company’s absolute best attraction. Do it!

I had such a great time on this tour! Sara was so informative and entertaining, and I felt so safe in the hands of our driver! The wineries we visited had fantastic wines and enthusiastic staff pouring the wines and explaining what we were tasting. Lunch was superb and the setting was beautiful! I felt very included and invited in the tour, by the staff and my fellow companions (wine makes a friend out of all of us) and never out of place being a solo traveler. And the song requests on the way back to Porto are on point 👌

We absolutely loved our tour with Rita. She brought so much passion and genuine adoration for the area, and her knowledge made every stop feel richer and more meaningful. She kept us company with great conversation and fun facts, and her easygoing personality made the entire experience feel effortless. It was especially wonderful having a female guide for the two of us — it added such a comfortable, welcoming vibe to the day. You can tell she truly loves what she does, and it shows in every detail. We did the Douro Valley tour with Rita and Alex and we couldn’t ask for a better way to end our trip! The Douro Valley is truly spectacular, it is one of the most visually stunning places I have ever been in my entire life. If you are in Portugal, you must go to the Douro Valley. We went in November, so off-season, but the fall colors were breathtaking. I almost would hesitate to go any other time of year because the reds, yellows, and oranges of the leaves were so striking. We are incredibly lucky we made it before they had really began pruning the leaves. Besides the stunning visuals, I would 100% choose to do a trip with Rita and Alex again. Rita is incredibly knowledgeable about the Douro Valley and not only the different types of wine they produce, but the other products like honey and olive oil as well. Rita was engaging and provided great commentary and really took care of our group. We never felt rushed. While the rain held off for the actual tour part of our trip, Alex masterfully handled the driving in the downpour that we encountered on the way back. While at the first stop on our tour, we had a Portuguese breakfast - aka a Port wine tasting at a smaller wine producer’s estate. The estate was absolutely gorgeous with a million dollar view of the vineyards. It was fun to see where they used to actually stomp the grapes as well. The tasting was phenomenal, my SIL who doesn’t even like port enjoyed the wine here. We then had a lovely lunch right on the estate, with a delicious pork braised in port wine or a typical cod dish - both were delicious. We then traveled through the beautiful Douro Valley in our mini-bus which was perfect. There were about 14 of us, and the bus fit us all comfortably, with really nice seats and big windows for perfect viewing opportunities. The 45-minute cruise on the river was the highlight. Being encapsulated by the fall colors of the vineyards was mesmerizing. Our second wine tasting included table wine with cheese, olive oil, and honey pairings. The winery also had a spectacular view of the Douro valley of course. I can’t recommend this tour enough. Our family was blown away by this experience. Thank you to Rita and Alex for taking such great care of us!
