Blenheim Palace
Blenheim Palace This awe-inspiring stately home, the current private residence of the 11th Duke and Duchess of Marlborough, is perhaps best-known as the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. Admire the stunning details behind the portraits, tapestry and furniture in the lavishly decorated State Rooms, which includes ornate furniture by Boulle, Savonniere carpet and the iconic 'Victories' series of tapestries celebrating the Duke's victory over the French armies of 'The Sun King', Louis XIV, at the Battle of Blenheim. Enjoy a stroll through the beautifully landscaped formal gardens designed by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown and more than 2,000 acres of parkland, or walk in the footsteps of Sir Winston Churchill. Visit his most cherished outdoor places on the grounds of Blenheim Palace, including the spot where he proposed to Clementine Hozier.

Very pleasant day trip out to Cotswolds and Blenheim Palace. Very knowledgeable guide James and skillful driver Michelangelo took us on a great trip there on 23rd June 2025. Recommended for anyone interested to see these two locations

Our tour guide James and driver Lucien were incredible. We had such a great time. We packed a lot in one day but it was worth it. First visited the Blenheim Palace and were there for about 2 hours. We got to see a lot but this place was massive. Didn’t have time to do one exhibit or go to other further away locations but had enough time to enjoy top features. Then we did Bourton on the Water and were there for an hour and 45 min. Some people complain there wasn’t enough time here but honestly I advise you to bring a light lunch with you to eat after the palace. So when you get to this location you don’t have to waste time getting food here. We had plenty of time to grab some dessert, check out some gift shops, and lounge by the River. Then the Cotswold tour is pretty quick but they guide you through the whole thing so you’re never off wandering here. It was fun seeing the Downton Abbey sites like the church, the Crawley’s home and the gorgeous homes there in the town. Keep in mind this is an actual neighborhood not a tourist spot so that’s why the tour makes sure we don’t get kicked out with unruly wandering people. Overall great experience and would recommend it to everyone especially if you’re a Downton fan. It was just a short 2-3 sites he pointed out for Downton fans but still fun to see in person.

The success of a tour is mainly based on the tour guy and we had an excellent tour guy today. She was knowledgeable and described everything clearly.

The tour guide was so charming and knowledgeable. I want to be her when I grow up. The driver was polite and also engaged with the tour group. It was a long day but very informative and worth it.

Trip to Blenheim Palace was fabulous. Trip to Bourton on the Water was interesting. Visit to Bampton, the Downton Abbey Village, was not worth the time. Would’ve been better to spend an extra hour at Blenheim Palace.
