This food tour is a great introduction to the street food scene, especially if you’re new to the markets and want help navigating the many options without feeling overwhelmed. Our guide handled all the ordering and logistics, which made the experience smooth, efficient, and allowed us to sample a nice variety of foods. That said, we had hoped for more engagement and context throughout the tour. While everything was well organized, there was limited explanation about the dishes, their origins, or what made them unique. At times, the group was left to self-manage, and there was less effort to create a more interactive or lively atmosphere. Overall, it’s a good option for getting oriented and trying different foods with ease. With a bit more storytelling and engagement from the guide, it could become a much more memorable experience.

We feel so lucky to have had Jae for a private food tour as we were the only ones that were booked for this date and time. We so enjoyed getting to know him while learning about all the unique and delicious Korean foods we were able to taste during this experience. What an intelligent, well spoken gentleman that is proud to share the history, heritage, and the best of Korean food with others such as us. We HIGHLY recommend this tour to others if you are fortunate enough to get Jae.

Jenny was absolutely incredible, she was knowledgeable, helpful and managed a large group on her own! The food was unbelievable and I’m still stuffed a day later. Would highly recommend booking a tour with her.

What an incredible day exploring the vibrant flavors of Seoul with our outstanding guide Alex! We wandered through Gwangjang Market, sampling an array of unforgettable Korean specialties—traditional pork & kimchi dumplings with pickled radish, crispy mungbean pancakes, and Korean beef tartare with Asian pear, paired perfectly with premium rice wine. Along the way we indulged in spicy rice cakes, kimbap, fish cakes, drank Soju and the sweetest treats—Shine Muscat grapes, freeze-dried strawberries, black & white sesame delights, and yakgwa, a beautiful deep-fried honey cookie shaped like a flower. We then strolled through Ikseon-dong Hanok Village, a charming maze of narrow alleyways and restored traditional homes. There, we tasted the famous Jayeondo salt bread and ended our tour in a cozy Korean tea house with ginger tea, anjeer khajur roll (fig & date), and grilled garae-tteok. Such a perfect way to experience the depth, tradition, and creativity of Korean cuisine—one delicious bite at a time.

An absolutely delightful tour! The food was delicious and so well explained by our host Jae. The markets and busy neighborhoods can be intimidating alone but with Jae’s help you can confidently find the most delicious food around. Thanks Jae!
