Fun Old Dubai short excursion capturing the essence of old Dubai

5.00Absolutely worth it and also safe for solo travelers. A large amount was seen during the three hour tour. Hamza the tour guide did phenomenal. He went above and beyond to thoroughly communicate prior to the trip to ensure I arrived at the correct departure location. Throughout the tour, he passed information very well. He gave great guidance in interacting with the local vendors while we toured the market. After the tour, Hamza ensured I got back to my location safely. He is overall kind, caring, knowledgeable, and very witty. Some tour guides are dry and distant, however, Hamza is very respectful and approachable and you feel like family whilst on the tour. It’s a walking tour and it’s not too hard of a walk around old Dubai. Wear comfortable shoes. We also sampled local treats and foods. I’d highly recommend this tour. It’s a must! I also recommend getting there maybe a half hour to an hour early because the starting point has so many cool stores in the area and you’re going to want to look at the shops in the area. Once the tour starts you’ll see a lot of local vendors and you’ll be tempted to stop and shop, but you have to be mindful of the other group participants. The tour will include some shopping time, but for a shopper like me, you’ll need more time and you can do so after the tour. Thanks Hamza for the tour. I’ll probably rebook it just for the fun of it :)

5.00Hamza was incredibly knowledgeable about the local areas, and he took the time to explain the history of each souk we visited. He also gave us some free time to explore the markets at our own pace, though I definitely wished we had a bit more time to wander. We opted for the food experience, and every dish we had was absolutely delicious—such a treat!

5.00Hamza was great! He was so open to answering questions and he taught us so much about his culture. I enjoyed hearing about the local customs and traditions and learning about the region. The food was good, the juice was great, and the tour was just right. It was very hot so come prepared. I had a neck fan, cooling cloths and a sun UV umbrella and I was okay. Others on our tour had to leave because the weather was so brutal.

4.00This tour provides a great opportunity to see the old area of Dubai when perhaps you need a break from the glitz and glamour of the rest of Dubai. Our guide, Hamza, was so knowledgeable and provided great detail about the UAE as well as life in Dubai. I do think the tour would have been fine without the tastings as I don’t think they enhanced our experience at all.
