The tour had good potential, but several issues affected my experience. Wahad the tour guide, is actually a kind and nice guy. However, he initially arrived at the wrong hotel upon picking me up, frequently used his phone for unnecessary thing while driving, and did not clearly communicate about extra costs. At the quad bike arena, I was not informed that the shemagh (head and neck covering cloth) was an extra charge. A staff member put it on me without prior clarification, and I later learned it cost 50 AED. The guide did not warn participants about this beforehand and instead encouraged the purchase. Since I ultimately did not join the desert ride, the shemagh went unused, making the spending feel totally wasted (which was actually avoidable with clearer communication). The quad bike experience felt rushed and not beginner-friendly, and when I struggled on the driving simulation session inside the arena (pre-actual desert riding), I felt like being left behind rather than supported by the tour guide. I also felt uncomfortable with repeated pressure from the tour guide to leave a positive review when we were on our way back to the hotel after the tour completed. So, will I personally recommend this tour activity by Ocean AirTravels? NO, unless having a buffet diner and a night show at the desert camp is the only experience you’d like to have. Better preparation when picking up the guests, clearer communication about add-ons, more attentive support, and a more considerate approach when requesting guests review is certainly a must to improve the whole experience.
