We really enjoyed our tour and tree planting experience. The small museum was very professionally presented. The guide was very knowledgeable. Lots of fruit bats in the trees and we saw some beautiful rainbow coloured geckos. Not too many biting insects (but take Deet!). The stop for snacks and a cold drink at the viewpoint cafe was very welcome and the view is amazing. We got to plant an indigenous 'Judas' tree. I hope it prospers. This place is doing an amazing job, trying to restore native habitat and I hope you will support it. BTW Much more interesting than the nearby '7 coloured earth' in my opinion.

A fabulous family trip with our guide Damian. Stunning views and lots of information from Damian who was fantastic! It was like a trip back in time to how Mauritius would have looked to those early visitors. Planting the tree was a lovely moment too. Hopefully in a small way it contributes to the ongoing important conservation work.

Please, please pay this wonderful reserve a visit. We are a family of 5 with older children (10, 15 and 19). We wanted to plant a tree in the forest to create a lovely memory together and to make a contribution to the protection and rehabilitation of Mauritian nature. The experience we had did not disappoint. The children (especially our teen boys) loved the jeep ride to each of the viewpoints along the trail. Our guide, Chris, was courteous and informative and he happily and confidently answered all our questions. He is clearly passionate about the forest and it was lovely to see him carefully moving the giant tortoises along when they were blocking the track for the jeep. The view from the snack "pitstop" was a real highlight and we were not expecting a complimentary drink and Mauritian snacks. Chris made our experience really special and at no point did we feel rushed. We have all promised to return in 10 years time to see how our little ebony trees are doing. Thank you to the Ebony Forest team for making our visit so special.

The excursion was booked by our agency as we got married on the island and was in combination with the 7 colored earth and the Chamarel waterfall. We were taken by bus to different stages and we were explained a lot. Towards the end of the tour there was a beautiful viewpoint where we got snacks and a drink. Afterwards we were taken to a suitable place to plant our “Love Tree”. We were told the place number of the tree if we want to visit it one day. We found it a beautiful gesture within the scope of the honeymoon.
