Nelson gave a very engaging tour and explained the process for growing and creating organic chocolate. The whole tour group enjoyed making chocolate and tasting a hot chocolate drink. He gave us a very fun history of chocolate and the tour was interactive with singing and drums. We had lunch after and it was the most delicious Costa Rican meal we’ve had. Eden is a family run business and everyone was very kind to us.

We had a great cocoa tour with Nelson. We learned a lot about the different cocoa plants, about organic farming, about the millennia-old history of chocolate and were also allowed to make chocolate chocolates ourselves. The tour lasted about 90 minutes and even our teenagers were attentive thanks to Nelson. Great.

Excellent food and lunch service! Chocolate tour very informative with enough humor to keep it interesting. Lots of history and education of chocolate making, but extremely fun and the making and tasting of the chocolate during the tour was fabulous. Would definitely recommend!! 5 stars

Could not recommend this activity enough, we were a little concerned with how it would go with our family (16, 14, 4, 2), but was pleasantly surprised. They explained how chocolate was made and then we got to taste and make our own chocolate. The guide is incredibly entertaining!!! Highly recommend for anyone whether kids or adults.

We were offered the option of lunch before or after the tour- very thoughtful. The local food was great and the view while we were eating overlooked a beautiful river. After a leisurely lunch we had a tour of the farm and the chocolate processing facilities. We were able to sample cacao pod straight from the pod (slimy but tasty). We saw how they fermented and dried the beans (and got another taste). Then we sampled fresh dark chocolate with a variety of toppings- cinnamon, pepper, turmeric, coconut, peanuts, sprinkles. We were able to make four of our our candies with these fillings to take with us. (We wish there had been other filling options like dried pineapple or banana/passion fruit/guava puree- anything directly from Costa Rica.) While our candy set up, we crushed some roasted beans and sang songs so we could make the traditional hot chocolate drink to taste. Nelson was wonderful and entertaining and informative. Ask for a tour from him!

The tour is very interesting and recommended! Our guide Yari showed us a lot and told us a lot and went to great lengths. We also saw some animals like a sloth and were allowed to make and taste a lot ourselves.
