The meeting spot is easy to get to and look out for, the check in with our guide is smooth and easy. Our guide David is such a wonderful and knowledgeable guide. His extensive knowledge on the history of the castle is a great way to enjoy and appreciate its history. We got the 12 pm time slot and we were just in time for the 1 o’clock gun/canon as well so I recommend to book the 12 pm slot when you can.

Without question it was the highlight of our trip. We came to Edinburgh (First Timers!!) with little-to-no knowledge/expectations of what was on to offer, and this tour provided us with an exceptional insight to Edinburgh Castles History as well as its progression through History. Our Tour Guide (Laura) was a highlight of this tour, providing not only a vast amount of knowledge on the Castle & surrounding areas, but also her personal engagement with us. She was enthusiastic, humorous, extremely intelligent and related to us based on our nationality (we are Irish) which allowed us to resonate more with the content she was sharing with us. This Tour was easily the highlight of our trip (especially for the price!). The affordability, engagement with the Tour Guide, the content and history was top-notch and I would also highly recommend this to anyone coming to Edinburgh, especially if it's your first time!

When your tour guide (Jack) has a pocket watch, you know you are in safe hands. I highly recommend booking this particular tour as it leaves on time and provides the ticket for castle into the price, saving any hassle which is a big bonus. Jack was very informative giving the story and history of Edinburgh Castle with a great sense of humour. He was also flexible with how we wanted the tour to go answering all our questions. This is our second tour with Allstar tours, I can't recommend this company and their guides enough. Both times were a great experience.

Nice guide but if it was to be done again, we would take a classical entrance and an audio guide in French. It would have cost half as much and we would have understood better.

Joe was a perfect combination of knowledge and personality to lead this tour! Learned so much more than if we’d ventured out sans tour.

This tour was one of the highlights of my trip! James, our tour guide, was very informative and had a great sense of humor. Everything he told us about the castle was very interesting. He was a great communicator and answered all our questions. There is a decent amount of walking, but it's not excessive, and we pause so that the tour guide can talk about the castle. The tour guide shows you around, then you are free to stay in the castle and look around for as long as you like, which I enjoyed. Most of the castle is outside, so dress accordingly for the weather. It's a great experience, and I recommend doing it with All Star Guides!
