Lots of history in this tour. Joe was a great guide, he presented the history in a very amusing and entertaining manner. The tour doesn’t actually go inside the castle buildings, you can do that yourself after the tour. This worked out well as we were able to visit the ones we wanted and spend the time we wanted. We had the noon tour so we got to hear the 1:00 gun fire.

Our family enjoyed our castle tour. We were there during the Fringe so it was quite crowded but our guide was able to keep up together and provide background and trivia about the different areas of the castle. It was enjoyable and helpful.

This is the only tour I have booked and it was totally worth it. The palace is beautiful but it would not mean much to you without a guide giving you the story. We were lost in the crowd as the august fest was on during our trip, and reached late to the spot but Mr. Edgar made sure we reached the place and put us with a group that was being guided by Laura.. and i am so glad about it.! Laura was so good with her narrative that we could see the past happen. I was in tears when she spoke of queen Margaret and the next 2 days of my trip I visited places associated with her. That is how good Laura's narration was.! Let me make your price comparasion simple aswel. I checked accross 4 platforms and Your ticket costs about 24£+audio about 3-4£. For the same price, this is totally worth it.
