We were on the 10am Tour of Edinburgh Castle, and it was absolutely brilliant, one of the best tours we’ve ever been on! As trained historians, we loved how the tour was grounded in historical research, but remained entertaining and accessible for all. Our guide, Laura, was outstanding. Laura is clearly very knowledgeable about the castle and its fascinating history, and every story was delivered with wit and good humour in a friendly and professional manner. A massive thank you to Laura for such an engaging and memorable experience!

David was a great guide, gave so much information in a fun way and tailored it to the crowd. I would recommend the tour, and also recommend dressing warmer than you think you need to, very windy up there

We took the Edinburgh Castle tour and overall really enjoyed the experience. Laura, our guide, is clearly very passionate about her work, which made the tour engaging and enjoyable. I would only suggest making the talk a bit more focused on the specific details and features of the castle itself and what you see on-site. That said, the stories shared were also very interesting. I recommend it!

The tour is exclusively outside of buildings, but within the castle walls. There are buildings you can go into by yourself after the tour ends and once you’re inside the walls, but not with the guide. However, David was an engaging tour guide and provided a lot of background on the castle’s long history and told a lot of stories related to those who lived (and died) there. Overall a very good tour, just dress accordingly!

We booked the tour which turned out to be a good idea as the guide was very informative and I don’t think we would’ve got as much out of the visit on our own - especially as it was bitter cold.

We usually don’t like large group tour guides, but this was a well paced tour and an exceptional tour guide (James) who was a historian and made the experience engaging and informative, which was unexpected; it was hands-down one of the best tours I’ve done even compared to most of the private bespoke tours we usually opt for.
