Easy to find meeting spot, our guide was the best, shared information casually with personal stories. Timed to see the 1pm cannon shot. Length of guide portion was a full 1 1/2 hrs. I misunderstood and thought the listed 1 1/2 hrs included touring the castle. We only were able to quickly walk thru...5minutes. We were not able to go into the military veterans memorial....I was disappointed since our 3 sons are veterans. We were late to our next visit at Kings Gallery. We were only in Edinburgh for the day. Also note involved long uphill uneven walk.

We had a fantastic tour of Edinburgh Castle with Davy! He was incredibly friendly, engaging, and impressively knowledgeable—not just about the castle itself, but also about Scotland’s history as a whole. Despite having a large group, he somehow remembered everyone’s names, which made the experience feel much more personal. Davy kept the tour fun from start to finish, balancing fascinating historical facts with plenty of humor. We learned so much and never felt bored for a moment. I also highly recommend booking an early morning or evening tour, as the castle gets extremely busy later in the day. If you’re visiting Edinburgh Castle, this tour is absolutely worth it—especially if you’re lucky enough to have Davy as your guide. P.S. Whoever is in charge—give Davy a raise! He’s a huge asset and made our visit one of the highlights of our trip. That last line adds a fun, memorable touch while making it clear how much you appreciated your guide.

I was so glad that I booked this tour. Our guide, Joe, was great. He was a great storyteller who kept the tour engaging and informative. There is so much to see inside the castle walls, and the views are amazing. I would plan at least an extra half hour after the tour to go inside the buildings inside the castle walls.

We had a fantastic tour of Edinburgh Castle with David. He was knowledgeable, funny, and made the history come to life in such an engaging way. We were visiting with a pram, and David was incredibly thoughtful, making sure we were comfortable on the hilly routes throughout the tour. He also managed to keep our 6-year-old entertained and interested the entire time, which is no small feat! A brilliant guide who really made our visit memorable. We would highly recommend this tour—thank you, David!

Confirm the meeting point, it’s at least 300 metres down hill from the castle gates. Lots of walking on uneven surfaces. Major attraction and is very busy.

Our Edinburgh Castle tour was great, made so by our fantastic guide David. He was very knowledgeable about Scotland generally and the Castle in particular. He was witty and engaging with the group, exchanging banter for the duration of the tour which flew past! Thanks David.
