A wonderful tour, covering the highlights of the castle and it's history. Max our tour guide had an incredible depth of knowledge when it came to Scottish history, yet, kept it concise and fun. He allowed space for questions and gave us recommendations for exploring the castle on our own. Highly recommend!

We loved Max's passion for story telling and had a great time learning from him about Edinburgh Castle and it's rich and at times dark history. Great tour and highly recommended. Be ready for some walking and crowds as June is peak season. Max really knows the history and is very passionate about his job which helped us enjoy.

Absolutely fantastic tour with Georgia! She was funny, smart, and shared some fantastic insights to the history of Edinburgh and it’s magnificent castle. The tour starting along the Royal Mile made for a nice start walking along the infamous street. Highly recommend you give yourself a solid 2-2.5 hours including the tour to properly see everything.

Be sure to have the exact location of your guide. Arrive early and ask folks around you to make sure you find your correct guide. Otherwise you will not be allowed into the Castle and you likely will not get a refund 😭

There is a lot of walking on this tour, some uphill, so wear comfortable shoes! And you are on your feet for the full 90 minutes, as well. That said, our tour guide Koffe was very entertaining, very informative, and a pleasure to listen to. He gave us a lot of history and helped us understand exactly what we were looking at. You will not see everything there is to see during this tour - for instance you are told about the dungeon and the oldest building in Edinburgh but you don't go through them - so allow for another couple of hours at the castle to explore on your own after the tour ends. It would have been nice to have had those things included as part of the tour. Overall, a worthwhile experience!
