We did this tour in November 2025 - the landscape was so beautiful with the trees changing colors and misty mountains. The tour was packed full of stops at historic spots and quaint villages. There’s nothing I could say to do justice to the highlands or Isle of Skye, it’s something you’d need to experience for yourself! It was quite cold and rainy in the mornings & evenings, it being November, but we were prepared (water-proof coats/boots) and it was thoroughly enjoyable. In fact, I felt the weather lent an extra angsty-glory to the sights. Be prepared to do some walking if you want to see the Fairy Pools and get the best views/pics. Our tour guide, Scott was the best guide we’ve ever had on any tour, so knowledgeable on all things Scotland! He was enthusiastic and helped us understand the nuances of Scottish history in bite-sized pieces that didn’t fell like a lecture -more like a friend relaying a story. He is a big music fanatic and had a playlist ready with Scottish songs, bands, and connections that gave context and made listening more enjoyable. Normally we like to drive and have more freedom to go where we please on our own time, but this tour was the perfect thing. I’m so glad we were able to enjoy the landscape and relax between stops. We would enthusiastically recommend! Tour Itinerary 10/10 Scott (our guide) 15/10

This was our first time in Scotland- my wife and I came here for a belated honeymoon. We knew we’d be staying in Edinburgh, and wanted to check out a trip to Isle of Skye. I’ve never been on a guided tour, so didn’t know what to expect- I was a little nervous to be going on one that would last three days. I have to say- it was absolutely INCREDIBLE!! First off, Timberbush Tours are a super-legit company- they run a ton of vans and busses, and do tours all over, so I felt safe knowing this is a company that holds itself accountable. Secondly, and more importantly, we hit the jackpot with our tour guide. If you’re taking this tour, you better hope you get Scott Duncan. Timberbush, if you’re reading this, Scott deserves a raise IMMEDIATELY! What to say- he was absolutely exceptional, going above and beyond for us. He was an incredible driver- very safe, easily getting the big van through some tight spaces- going slow and carefully in traffic and around the windy mountain passes. Furthermore, as we drove over the course of three days, he gave an oral history of the land, which provided the context for what we were seeing. I would imagine a lot of tour guides are simply going through the motions. Scott gave a 2,000-year chronicle with the panache of an expert storyteller. He was passionate and emphatic as he spoke of the Wars of Independence, the Jacobite Uprisings, and a lot more. At times I was greatly moved, at times I laughed a lot- but mostly I sat on the edge of my seat as I learned of the rich and complicated history of a breathtaking land. It would be difficult for anyone to enthusiastically entertain a group of strangers for three straight days, but he just never turned it off. From early in the morning till late at night, he was positive, fun, easy-going, and seemed genuinely concerned that we were all enjoying ourselves. By the end, we were all calling him ‘Great Scott,’ and he got more than one round of applause from us for his excellent service. Having said all that, I do believe this tour would be time well spent regardless, if only for the supreme beauty of the locales we saw. We went in early November, so as to avoid the crowded tourist season. As a result, the days were a little short, with the sun setting at about 4:30pm. However, the fall foliage was breathtaking- and because some of the trees had lost their leaves, it allowed greater visibility into the mountains. It would rain in the morning, then clear up in the afternoon, leaving an atmospheric mist around the mountaintops. I didn’t know what to expect from Scotland, but the Highlands and the Isle of Skye were some of the most impressive countryside I’ve ever seen. Incredible to go to a place of such undeveloped wilderness. There are roads and electric poles, and that’s it! Otherwise it’s just the wildlife, the valleys, and epic grandeur. Absolutely stunning. They put us up in a cozy B&B in Portree, with a well-stocked fridge for us. It was fun drinking pints and eating steak pie on the square. If you go to Skye, do not miss the Fairy Baths and the Fairy Glen - I will remember these spots forever. Thank you for three days I will absolutely never forget. And thank you Scott for being so good at what you do! 10/10.

Paul Santa was the best tour guide - The entire experience was magical. Despite unpredictable weather, he came with several backup plans and allowed our small group to adjust the trip to our preferences. As a solo traveler, I felt like part of the whole group. The people of the highlands are so welcoming, kind, and funny. 100% worth it, remember good rain shoes. So much fun - I couldn’t stop saying “Yay!”

This was our first time in Skye. The driver and guide Neal was excellent. He was knowledgeable and warm and a great storyteller who balanced keeping us entertained with comfortable silences and music on the drives. The itinerary on paper was great but unfortunately on 2 of the days there was quite a bit of rain and wind and 1 day was forecast to be particularly bad so several places closed as a precaution, including Talisker distillery and Eileen Donan. This really impacted on Day 2 activities and Neal did his best but there were few backup options unfortunately. This is a risk on Skye. We also booked a B&B as part of our booking. It was a cute place and our host was very welcoming. The breakfast provided was nicely presented but quite minimal (toast, jam, cheese, fruit) and it was a 10-15 min from Portree which meant walking into town in the evenings during wind and rain was not the most pleasant. We would request a place in town or a more equipped hotel next time. Overall Skye was stunning and we would definitely visit again and this tour gave us a taste of it, but to explore more and have flexibility next time we would rent a car.

My best friend and I took the 3 day tour with our amazing guide, Mark. He was so knowledgeable, an amazing story teller, and very funny. We were able to see so much of the beautiful Scottish countryside and we learned all about the history and folklore. The seats on the bus were a bit squished and it would've been more comfortable with a bit more leg room, I'm pretty short and I still felt it so I can only imagine for the tall people. Highly highly recommend this trip, I hope to return to the isles soon!

An unforgettable and magical experience I had on this 3 day Tour from Timberbush. Our guide - Jim, was wonderful, witty and extremely helpful and friendly. I must say the guide makes or breaks a tour. Full marks to Jim. The itinerary is well designed with stay in Portree instead of other places as some other providers do. Highly recommend this tour!!
