5.00We an incredible whisky tasting with John, and it was hands down one of the highlights of our trip. We tasted four very different whiskies, each with its own distinct character, palate, and finish; perfectly curated to show the range and complexity of Scottish whisky. John’s knowledge is exceptional, but what truly sets him apart is how fun and engaging he makes the experience. He has an infectious enthusiasm for whisky and a genuine excitement about sharing his expertise. He explained everything in a way that was both informative and approachable, making the tasting enjoyable whether you’re a seasoned whisky drinker or a total beginner. The session never felt rushed or overly technical...just the right balance of learning, tasting, laughing, and discovering new favorites. You could tell John truly loves what he does, and that passion made the entire experience even more memorable. We would highly recommend this whisky tasting to anyone visiting Scotland. 5.00While in Edinburgh we wanted to find out and experience some whisky from Scotland. We decided on a guided tasting and we weren't disappointed. Our host was excellent and we tasted and discussed four different types of whisky as a group. All very entertaining and educational

5.00How does one choose which Whisky Tour to do in Edinburgh with so many options? Look no further, you will not regret booking with EDI Tours! Why? The iconic location inside the upper room of The Waverley on the Royal Mile for starters but the knowledge of our host, John, and the four whiskies we sampled and learned about- that’s what really makes a tour go from “meh” to “you have to do this”!! Fun anecdotes sprinkled in with all the historical information kept things interesting and allowed the passion John has for teaching us about Scottish Whisky to shine. Highly recommend this fun and informative experience! Slàinte mhath!

He did a great job answering our questions, and the whole evening felt very comfortable and personal as well as educational. We all discovered a new favourite as well, thank you John!

He brought the whole evening to life with his passion, humor, and storytelling—honestly, he should be doing stand-up comedy on the side! We tasted four delicious whiskies, each introduced with fascinating tales and Scottish history. On top of that, he shared some fantastic local tips for food, pubs, and places to visit that really enriched our stay in Edinburgh. It felt less like a tour and more like an evening with a very entertaining (and well-informed) friend. Absolutely recommend!
