If you are interested in technologies and futuristic design, then you should not miss visiting Eindhoven!
Unlike many other Dutch cities, there are no crooked medieval streets here or small cozy houses. On the contrary, this city is famous for its incredible inventions that are shaping the future. It is full of surprises, such as a hotel in a former monastery, a hidden river and
urban accommodations for bats or insects, and many others!
We will see a lot of impressive architectural objects, an art district, art galleries, street art, and innovative projects.
Our story will concern the history of such things as, smart or sustainable cities, and wildlife-friendly urban areas. We will find out more about the history of Eindhoven or big events like Eindhoven Design Week.

We are starting our tour at the square in front, and we will talk about Eindhoven and why it is so attractive to live here. What is a human-centred design for urban planners?
Why Eindhoven is called the city of light? Is it because of the Philips and bulb industry, or because there is a light tower in the city centre or because of the lights that you can see from the cosmos?

We are in the south west of the Netherlands, in Brabant, a few kilometers. from Belgium. This city is clean, modern, usable. We are interested in modern architecture so we are going straight to the Philips area. Fully renovated after the conversion of the industrial center. Big skyscrapers in glass and steel stand out, light:De Admirant and the Lichttoren but the Witte Dame, the historic headquarters of Philips with spaces for conferences and exhibitions and a coffee bar of high value also good for sipping the fragrant drink in a very refined Deco environment. In the square of lopsided but wide shape stands the De Blob, a shell of solid and transparent materials that seem used as a high-altitude ski resort, instead it is a formidable shopping center. Iconic structure of the near future designed by M Fuksas.

I was on an excursion in Eindhoven with a guide Anya. What an intense tour it was! In my opinion, there is no topic that Anna would not know. It was very interesting. Anna very competently, accessible, inspired told us about the history of the city and about its famous residents. She told many stories from her life. It was a pleasure to walk and talk with her. Thank you very much Anna for an interesting story!
