Honestly, if you’re not flush with cash, fine to give this a miss and head straight into the national park for some hiking.

Over rated expensive uneventful. Tourist trap. Pass to enter park is mandatory and not explained and shouldn’t be required . Makes it a very expensive event at twice the price as advertised. Not worth the effort

My wife and I only took the round-trip train ride without meals, personal guide, or hiking in the National Park. A fee to enter the National Park was required in addition to the train ride fee. The train ride lasted about one hour 45 min with a 20 min stop to climb a pathway next to cascading water down the mountain side. The stop also allow the purchase of a framed photo taken of you interacting with actors dressed as prisoners before boarding the train. You are provided with ear-phones to plug into each seat of the train's audio system to select your language of choice to hear about the train tour that provides the history of the place; you will see remaining tree stumps of trees harvested for wood by prisoners in the past, a lot of scenery and some horses during your ride. We had purchased a round-trip bus ride from Ushuaia to the train station; we elected to arrive an extra one hour early to view/photograph the various displays at the station.

Very nice experience of traveling on an old train, in very comfortable cabins, seeing divine landscapes. The ride lasts slightly more than an hour round trip, the ticket can be taken in advance by the web, recommended, or directly at the station. There is a Premium Service with breakfast or lunch.

Great views, the photo you take at the beginning is an optional purchase later on. The weather at the stations is super cold but the train is warm.

This was really cool, we'd seen some of the best scenery in the world and now we were riding a miniature train to the End of the World - and I lived to tell the tale! There was a stop at a pretty waterfall and some funny antics by the local convicts who clearly had been left behind by the penal colony. I thought this was a cool thing to do, really enjoyed it.
