A private tour is the way to go in India. Your time is valuable. You can go at your own pace. Spend more time at one site and less at another. The sites on this 2 day tour are outstanding. We spent more time at the Mahabodhi Temple. Our guide Srikant Kumar was wonderful. He was so helpful and attentive. Our diver, Mukesh Kumar was very good avoiding bumps and getting through the chaotic traffic. It was good to see the sites in Bodh Gaya and in the surrounding areas. Booking was easy. Communications using Trip Advisor Messaging and Whats App were great. We were informed about our guide and given his phone number. The guide arrived early. This tour far exceeded my expectations.

What a wonderful tour! This tour gave us unforgettable memories in India! When I booked this tour on Viator, I was not so confident about it, but anyway I booked it as there were not many choices for guided 2-day tours in Bodh Gaya that I could find. However, this tour turned out to be one of the best guided tours that we ever had! Our tour was carried out by an awesome team of four people, not just one driver/guide! The coordinator, Mr. Kishor; the driver, Mr. Ranveer; the guide in Bodh Gaya, Mr. Prahlad; and the guide in Barabar Caves, Mr. Rakesh. We really appreciate their team effort to make this tour super wonderful. This tour was very flexible and well organized. We flew into Patna and needed transportation from there to our hotel in Bodh Gaya, which was about a three hours drive. It was not clear if we could arrange it through Travelbaits (the tour operator), so I contacted them beforehand via Viator messaging. They responded quickly and we were able to arrange transportation from Patna to Bodh Gaya with a nominal additional cost. Travelbaits also gave us their contact via WhatsApp for prompt communication, which was very useful and reliable. The coordinator, Mr. Kishor, greeted us at the arrival gate of the Patna airport and led us to the car that was used for our entire tour. He explained everything very well at the beginning and kept providing us information we needed via WhatsApp. Thanks to his coordination, the tour went flawlessly. The driver, Mr. Ranveer, was a Patna local. He took us to Bodh Gaya and drove to all our tour spots. Mr. Ranveer did not speak English much, but we were able to communicate sufficiently. He was a very skilled driver and handled problems when they came up: confusing routes, challenging road conditions, and chaotic traffic. He was super friendly and took good care of us, responding to our requests very well. In a few spots, we needed to give him directions from the GPS on our cell phone, but he was mostly able to navigate on his own. Mr. Prahlad was our guide in Bodh Gaya. He was very punctual and waited us at the hotel lobby with Mr. Ranveer in the morning from way before our meeting time. He spoke English fluently and explained the places we visited very well. He also knows many people in Bodh Gaya and often had a short conversation with his friends he encountered during our tour. As most of the temples close in the early afternoon, our tour was divided into two parts: morning and late afternoon. Mr. Prahlad recommended we go back to the hotel for lunch as local restaurants may not keep a good sanitary condition during the rainy season; we followed his advice. In the late afternoon part, we visited some temples not listed in the itinerary and also Mahabodhi temple for the second time. We visited Mahabodhi temple in the early morning as the first stop, but also in the late afternoon as the last spot. Although it was the same place, the atmosphere was completely different between these two visits, and we enjoyed the second visit. We sat down under the bodhi tree and had a good time. He is a Hindu, but he understands Buddhism deeply and we had some good conversations about the practice of buddhism. On the second day, Mr. Prahld guided us to Dungeshwari Hills and Vishnupad Temple. As Vishnupad Temple is for Hindus, we could not enter it, but we saw it from the outside. We left there and headed to Barabar Caves that was on the way to Patna. At Barabar Caves, we met another guide, Mr. Rakesh. He asked the gate gatekeeper to open the locked gate of the caves for us - the gate is typically closed on Sundays (the day we visited there). He even sang in the cave to demonstrate its resonance, and explained the place very well. After Barabar caves, we left Mr. Rakesh and drove to Patna. As we missed the lunch time, the Mr. Ranveer found us a nice restaurant in a hotel in Patna. Finally, we arrived at the Patna airport well before our flight. Mr. Ranveer was so nice that he gave us flower bouquets as gifts! We left Patna with great memories thanks to the Travlbaits team!

Professional and punctual! Both the guide (Dinu) and the car driver (Brijesh) were helpful, knowledgeable, and familiar with all the areas that we explored. Travel baits also helped us get train tickets and travel arrangements for multiple cities. Working with Shraddha, our Travel Baits representative was smooth and professional. Highly recommended!
