What To Expect
Get out of the city for a fun day in our Sonoran desert wilderness. PicTours Arizona departs everyday in search of fun while we drive through tribal farm land as we head toward Superstition Mountain, home of the fabled, Lost Dutchman mine. Come with us as we take you on a safe drive on the historic Apache Trail and a mild hike on Superstition Mountain. With its fame, fables and folklore we will lead you to the very mountain where the Lost Dutchman's Mine is hidden. As a bonus, we visit Goldfield Ghost Mining Town. An authentic ghost town, Goldfield was used for many popular television and filmed westerns. Enjoy the many western activities that Goldfield offers, such ziplining, railroad rides, shopping or take a tour into the actual gold mine. The town's saloon, the Mammoth is a must stop for lunch or belly up to the old west style bar.

5.00We did the Happy Cactus tour with Kathleen and had an amazing experience. She was incredibly personable and made the tour feel relaxed and fun right away. One of our favorite parts was that the tour was self paced and flexible, so we were able to explore without feeling rushed or tied to a strict schedule. Kathleen was extremely knowledgeable about the area, wildlife, and plants, and shared so many interesting details along the way. She also gave excellent recommendations for other things to do in the area. This tour is perfect if you want to explore Arizona while learning more about it. Highly recommend

5.00A friend who has been coming down here for a few years and I went had a great time. It was very helpful to hear about the scenery and history from a local and made so much more enjoyable driving around the area now. Mike was very personable, made everyone feel comfortable would answer and ask any questions we posed to him. I will definitely recommend this tour to friends who are visiting here.

5.00Jake, first of all is a great tour guide. The tour is great it starts with a bit of history in old town Scottsdale and then out to the mountains. The scenery is absolutely beautiful and Jake is so knowledgeable about all the different cactus, plants, and the mountain range. You get to hike a bit and stop at an old mining ghost town. It is a very nice tour.

5.00Wow what fun!! I loved the breathtaking scenery. Michael was a fantastic guide, with seemly endless knowledge of the tour. And all questions we had in regards to Arizona as a state. He was highly interactive and set the tour at the perfect pace. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a good time.

A tour guide can make or break a tour and taking a chance on a five hour trip can be a gamble, but anyone who gets the luck to have Mike as your guide struck gold! He’s a true keeper!! A wonderful story teller with nuggets of information while narrating nearly the entire tour. Yet, he balanced that well with answering questions and making it feel conversational. My husband was grateful for the break in driving to enjoy the scenery. Mike made certain we were all comfortable and saw the deserts views on views. Don’t hesitate on this trip. It’s definitely worth it!

5.00Very nice 5 hour tour of the Phoenix area. We enjoyed listening to the history of the community and mountains. Our guide was great. The drive through the mountains is beautiful and the short hike was perfect for all levels of hiking abilities in our family!
