Your licensed guide will meet you at the elegant Williamsburg Inn, 136 E. Francis Street, and escort you back in time to the 18th-century. As we walk up Duke of Gloucester Street we will enter a different, slower-paced town. We will learn why the Colonists decided to break off from Great Britain. We will experience the sights, sounds, and scents of the 1700s, when Virginia was the largest and wealthiest colony in British America.
Colonial Williamsburg Capitol Building
We will immerse ourselves in the 18th century as we walk up Duke of Gloucester Street, "the most historic street in America." We will stop to view the Capitol Building, where our Founding Fathers debated British taxation and finally proposed independence. Along the way we will pass by busy trades, merchant shops, and taverns. And maybe even visit the dark jail cells and shackles of the Public Gaol (Jail) where Blackbeard's pirates were imprisoned.

We had a wonderful tour of Colonial Williamsburg with Cyndi. She took great care of our 97 year old mom. She showed us lovely gardens and named all the horses as she walked us up Duke of Gloucester Street while she explained Revolutionary War history AND the history of how Colonial Williamsburg came to be. She also gave us a list of dinner suggestions and pointed out drinks and snacks that were peculiar to Williamsburg. Altogether, a great afternoon!

Visited ares not usually traveled. Very knowledgeable about the area. Cyndi spoke softly, which in a crowded area made it difficult to hear some times. Great overview setting you up for more discovery on your own!

Cyndi was a wonderful, knowledgeable guide. So informative and accurate. My husband is a History buff so asked lots of questions which Cyndi confirmed & explained. We loved it! She stopped to talk to the various costumed people portraying famous people of the era. Made the tour even more interesting.
