Drive through the city's beautiful Beacon Hill Park admiring the local foliage and peacocks and enjoy a fully narrated tour of the Butchart Gardens, a National Historic Site spread over 55 acres. Here, amidst an enchanting floral aroma, enjoy a 2-hour self-guided tour. Take a stroll through various themed gardens, including the Rose Garden, Japanese Garden, Italian Garden, and Sunken Garden.
Then, continue back to the city, past Old Town and through the Gates of Harmonious Interest into historic Chinatown, the second oldest in North America. Your tour concludes back in Victoria’s Inner Harbour, next to the iconic Empress Hotel and British Columbia Legislative Buildings.

What To Expect
The Butchart Gardens
The Butchart Gardens is a 121-year-old world famous 55-acre display garden located in Brentwood Bay, British Columbia. Created by Jennie Butchart, and still privately owned and operated by the family, The Gardens was designated a National Historic Site of Canada, in 2004 for its one hundredth birthday.
Inner Harbour
Your tour begins and finishes in the Inner Harbour, one of the most beautiful harbours in the world. The harbour has had a long history, starting with its use by First Nations. Many vessels moor in the centre of this famous heritage city, just steps from its historic streets and distinctive architecture. During the summer months, the harbour is the focus of festivals, shows and music. The harbour also serves whale watching and ecotourism businesses, float planes, an International Ferry terminal with connections to Port Angeles, Bellingham and Seattle, and a water taxi service.

5.00Very good tour guide! His name was Michael. He had a lot of information about the community before we went out to BUCHART GARDENS. The only negative was two ladies did not show up timely for the tour and it held us up about 12 minutes late getting started.
Worthwhile experience relaxing and informative.

5.00Very informative and just about the right duration. The gardens were wonderful and not crowded at all. Plenty of recommendations for dinner and a good all around knowledge of history of Victoria. The guide was excellent I can’t remember her name.

3.00The gardens are beautiful. Unfortunately we left 25 minutes later than the posted time because the driver waited for a family of 4 who were tardy. There should be a time limit on how long a tour should wait for late arrivals.

Use caution with wheelchair dependent people

4.00Although it is advertised as wheelchair accessible, it does not mention that the person must be able to transfer from their wheelchair and climb up stairs to get into the vehicle. Upon purchase, I entered information that we had one person in a wheelchair however, when we got to the actual site, they had no idea about the wheelchair. It worked out for us, but I can see where this could be problematic. Michael was our driver and he was knowledgeable about the area. There were only eight adults in our van so we had plenty of space. They let us spend two hours at the gardens and even pushing a wheelchair we were able to get through all of the garden area and have a few minutes to get gelato after.

1.00Probably a great adventure but I made a mistake on the timing and couldn’t go. I sent them an email and never heard back. You’re better off buying tickets direct from Butchart Gardens because they’re good indefinitely.
